Hey everyone.!

New video is up, and this one is about the new built-in attention mode in ComfyUI — the ComfyUI Kitchen Attention. If you have been using SageAttention and dealing with the install pain, this one is for you.

The Kitchen Attention is ComfyUI's own GPU kernel library, and it is now included out of the box in the latest release. I ran it head-to-head against SageAttention on MiniMax H3 text-to-video with the same prompts, same settings, and synced them up frame by frame.

The speed difference is negligible — about 6 seconds on a 10-second clip. But the quality in action scenes surprised me. The Kitchen Attention picked up more detail in the spinning and landing moments compared to Sage. At 20 steps without turbo LoRA, both modes give you solid output in under 3 minutes. Push it to 30 steps and the detail gains are real in both, but the Kitchen just feels like it was built for this — because it literally was.

The free workflow in this post is the basic MiniMax H3 text-to-video and image-to-video setup with both attention modes included. You just enable one and bypass the other.

ComfyUI New Built-In Comfy Kitchen Attention Mode - Speed and Quality Together

ComfyUI Kitchen Attention vs SageAttention — side-by-side speed and quality test with MiniMax H3 text-to-video. The Kitchen Attention is ComfyUI's new built-in INT8 quantized attention that ships out of the box with no extra install. I tested both attention modes at 20 steps and 30 steps with the same prompts, same settings, and synced them up frame by frame. The Kitchen runs about 6 seconds slower than Sage on a 10-second clip, but the detail in action scenes looks surprisingly better. At 30 steps without the turbo LoRA, you get real quality gains in both modes — and the Kitchen is built for ComfyUI, so it just works right out of the box. If you have been using SageAttention and dealing with the install headaches, this is the update worth looking at. The Kitchen is included in the latest ComfyUI release, runs on the ModelAttentionBackend native node, and covers Windows and AMD GPUs. I share the full workflow file at the end so you can test both modes on your own hardware and see the difference.
