Android 18 never really cared about fashion. After all, when you’re a biomechanical warrior designed to annihilate the strongest fighters in the universe, things like clothing aesthetics seem trivial. But after settling into a normal life with Krillin and their daughter, Marron, she found herself… bored.

One day, while wandering through a mall (a relic of human consumerism that strangely fascinated her), she stumbled upon a dimly lit boutique with gothic lettering on the sign: Nocturne’s Embrace. Intrigued, she stepped inside.

The shop was filled with dark lace, leather, silver jewelry, and hauntingly beautiful music playing in the background. A tall woman with jet-black hair and heavy eyeliner glanced up from behind the counter.

“You look lost,” she said, smirking.

18 scoffed. “I don’t get lost.”

The woman chuckled. “Fair enough. But I think I know why you’re here.”

18 raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Enlighten me.”

“You’re tired of blending in. You’re not like the others—you never have been. You’re different.” The woman gestured toward a rack of black corsets and ripped fishnet tops. “You should embrace it.”

Something about those words resonated with 18. She had never fit into the world like a normal human. She was created, not born. She had fought against fate, against her own programming, to carve out a life of her own. Why should she conform to society’s expectations now?

She ran her fingers over a spiked choker and smirked. “Maybe you’re onto something.”

A few hours later, she walked out of the store in a long black coat, fingerless gloves, and dark eyeliner. Her platinum blonde hair contrasted sharply against the new aesthetic, making her look even more striking.

When she got home, Krillin nearly dropped his coffee. “Uh… babe? You… look different.”

18 leaned against the doorway, smirking. “Yeah? Get used to it.”

Krillin gulped. “Not gonna lie… it’s kinda hot.”

18 chuckled. Maybe this whole goth thing wasn’t just a phase after all.
