Thanks so much for this! This EP was so ahead of its time, I basically had it on repeat from 2015-2018 whilst waiting for Polychrome. The eBow was such a magical touch and the eastern vibe along with the squelchy basses complimented each other so well. I’m constantly fascinated at how much work goes into individual sounds, it’s so refreshing to see! I always assumed the effects chain on basses and drums were insanely complex, but seeing just how complex they get when working with foley, guitars and pianos etc. is really interesting. Thank you for shaping my music taste into what it is today, forever grateful to you guys. That Chon album was also one of my favourites back around that time and I must’ve completed journey so many times, the score that goes alongside you getting to the top of the mountain is incredibly touching and cinematic. My favourite part is when you’re skiing through the temple on the sand and the camera pans out to the right and you catch a glimpse of the sun shining through the pillars from the mountain top, think I might have to get a little session on Journey tonight, revisit the little white flag man!
