MACKY

Are y’all ever faced with writers block and if so, how do you overcome it? Also any extra tips on time management would be helpful :)

Daniel Tehnique

Can you post a neuro/reese basses tutorial please?🙏🏻

Ny

How do approach mixing elements when you want to create a lush and more emotive soundscape? I find I struggle with things feeling to “spacey” and losing the intensity or emotion because of the distance created by reverbs and echo. Also, How do you approach goal setting and keeping yourself accountable to those goals over say…the course of a quarter (3 month periods)? Thank you ❤️

holdont

you make a video of how Starlight was made? How do you usually collaborate with other artist? (- Live Sessions, Exchange of Files, who comes up with the "Main idea" How do you learn new techniques?

CRRNT

When, if ever, are you going to feature other artists on your label? You have inspired so many artists big and small over the years and im sure you could make something together, so do you have any plans about this?

Christoffer Hansen

Are you planning on making more tutorials on the same subjects you’ve already covered? I would LOVE more videos on drums, heavy bass and dreamy synths.

Alex Cullen

After all the years of production, are you guys fully satisfied with the music you have made or do you still feel like it could be better?

Ryan Dekker

What kind of computer rigs are you both using to run such massive projects ?

Unshore

What was your inspiration behind “Introvert”, and can you talk about how that song came to be? It’s one of my all time favorite songs! Thanks!

Connor Adams

I know at least Will has a eurorack setup, but if Jim does as well then this applies to both of you.. would you mind running us through your setup and the flow you had in mind when picking your modules/layout?

Marly Parsons

Big ups for the content it’s all amazing!! Do you have any tips on finishing tracks/staying inspired with current projects? I really struggle with finishing ideas or progressing out of a short loop.. I’m very quick to fall out of love with ideas and fall into frustration.

Alane pearce

Is there a way to have an other music in the mood of Lost In Thought? I really love this track!

Koux

You guys will lots of questions regarding more heavy Neuro Bass tutorials, and as all of us here regard you guys as top tier producers when it comes to Neuro sound design, we’d love more bass tutorials! But I’d love to request specifically how you guys work with square-based Neuro basses, you find a way to get them VERY fat, but still very clean. The square basses from your Splice pack (square fuzz, tech bend, all the other square-based Neuro samples) and the main basses from Tetsuo's Redemption as well as the bass from Shadows at 0:38 seconds. Knowing how you guys produces these squary, fat, heavy, low mid chewy basses would be incredibly valuable while being, IMHO, enough of a deviation from your current published tutorials to merit a segment in your next video! Thanks guys!

Koux

Extra vote on a Starlight walkthrough. Fuego too! Anything from Sanctuary actually lol

Janko

I've two really simple questions to both of you. I would like to know an instrument (a synth, a piano, whatever 😇) and an album which inspired you and shaped your sound during your musical journey. I really love your music! and I would love to know more about where it came from. Otherwise keep it up and thank you for inspiring and teaching us!

Daniel

How do you make your snares 'roll' or 'trill' in your tracks? For example, they feature a lot in your 'nice thing just' track. Is there a way you program in those quick hits or is it always a sample?

IDG Music

really uh simple question, but chords or lead melody first? everyone's different from what I've seen and I'm really curious for you guys heh

Dylan

If you could make your own instrument or effect, what would it be called and what would it do?

Liam

How do you guys approach mastering your music ?

flyco

I'm curious what's your approach to drum sound design. I love how your drums have such a crunchy top end that's very uniform around the entire kit.

Broko Fankone

Besides slowing down an audio track in a DAW, is there a better way to figure out how a certain beat or composition was arranged as precisely as possible?

Nuan Sonar

When do you work on consolidations when working on a tune? For example, if you are starting to hit up to around 20+ tracks or the workflow starts getting bogged down, when do you decide to bounce things down to simpler groups and do you have any good rules of thumb in regards to organization and consolidation during the creative process?

Martin Volder Poulsen

Hey, thank you guys for all your tutorials and hard work! I received the Funk Blaster EP and hope you enjoyed making the track ;) Its absolutely sick! My question would be: Do you have some shortcuts/tips that you feel like are essential, when moving from the beginner stage to more advanced production techniques? One that comes to mind, is your way of often using racks when adding effects - that is something I really think about now, when producing. Anything that comes to mind? Something that might be really useful to learn?

Mark Buccianti

Heya, what tips would you give Musicians / Producers who have extremely varied musical interests and are struggling to find their "own sound"? Your music really got me through some stuff! Much love.

theysaidsmile

Any plans on taking things in a more heavy direction? I often think how effective you both would be taking music to more sinister vibes completely pushing the musical limits of bass design in terms of "power". Do you guys get bored of simplistic music? Have you put much thought in your abilities to set a standard for future producers to take notes from? That said ily be well.

Akashic Records

Would love to learn more about sounddesign, what synths to use and your approach to it. If there is a video to it would be nice to get a link to that :) My other question is if there will be ever another project in the Movember series? All of the tracks are total masterpieces and still till today some of the most inspiring electronic music i ever heard :) Thank you for that big ups guys keep it up

Akashic Records

And the other question would be if we can create remixes or use the samples you guys provide in our own music ? :)

Gabriel Gallegos

My main concern is how to go about utilizing elements, when to use variation and when to stick to the same sound. The key to balancing the textures and melody with rhythm involved.

Michael F

^ Would love to know this. RAM and processor especially.

Riley Cox

can you please post the project file for the complex distortion processing video? my friend and are on our third try of trying to replicate it and it would be so beneficial if we could cross reference what we've done with the og automation. please please please

THE PHYSICS OF SOUND

I would like to know about your history! - How you two met - How you start producing and where you learned music production

Glazork

Very egocentric question to begin : Are you guys thinking about coming to Switzerland (or France, or let's even say continental Europe !) to do a live performance sometime? I still never saw you playing live :( Are you planning to do new collabs ? Talking with a friend that makes rap, I realized how much your music (especially the downtempo/glitch hop tunes) could be used as an instrumental track for hip hop / rap. Besides some of your tracks that are already in that direction (remix of "Life", Look Who's Back), do you think about exploring more of it? How do you guys manage the geographic separation since Jim moved to Canada? Thank you for everything guys!

Mujo Alic

I've got a few. Feel free to pick the ones you'd like to answer the most: - Do you have any unreleased music that is something completely different from what you normally do (like an orchestral composition, jazz etc) and if so, are we ever gonna hear it? - What is your workflow in terms of who does what? E.g. does one come up with melodies and the other is more focused on sound design or do you both kinda do everything simultaneously? - Are you somehow trained in music (theory) or did you just learn everything yourselves? - Do you have other jobs outside of music? If not, what did you do before? - What do you do when you're not making music? Any personal hobbies? Thanks! I'm looking forward to the video!

Faelow

I'm curious if you have any thoughts on how to compose shuffly evolving drum sections to flow with humanlike variation. Technically I understand how to program variation in velocity, attack, and create ghost notes, which are building blocks for this goal, but I struggle with the writing. Working in midi makes it hard for me to keep sight of an idea, as I will quickly reset to what I'm hearing. I've considered recording vocal beat boxes with the swing but this is not the best workflow I'd imagine. Any tips for someone with no background in drumming? Thank you and thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

Oh Mara

How do you get a really loud and clean sounding master?

Austin Taylor

Are you planning any new tours? and will you becoming back to the united states any time soon?

Anais Jan

I really struggle with bass placement when making my music (drum and bass) how could I overcome this?

D.j. O'Brien

Can dive into how you balance compositional density with the frequency spectrum, and how that influences the overall groove of a track? Or just the overall meaning of life? Whatever you fell like getting into!

Peter Vogl

I'm trying to use white noise as an ambient texture in my production and struggling to make it work well. Not as risers etc but as a moving texture that comes in and out. Wondering if you have any ideas for this.
