I love your storytelling. This wasn't "girl meets guy at college" and "they used to go to school together." That's the easy road, and it's fine but forgettable. You took the time to come up with a mini-story for how they first met, made me really buy that he's into photography (with that "melting the cheese" bit), and then folded that into the initial spark of attraction (she thought he was flirting). That took time and research and effort, and it paid off. Wow. Keep doing that!
