September Poll Changes (Patreon)

As I recently mentioned I was considering, I’m going to switch things up a bit here with the polls, starting this month, in order to put a greater emphasis on writing longer multichapter stories here (like Guiding Harry, with Repopulating the House of Black likely about to get added as well). Instead of the two prompt polls each month (HP/PJO and General), I’m going to try just doing one of the standard prompt polls, freeing up more time for me to focus on multichapter stories. $5+ patrons will still have a second monthly poll to submit nominations for, but the poll and story itself will be part of the shorter Quick Fic tier.

Tomorrow, I’ll open prompt poll nominations ($5+ tier), and all fandoms will be eligible, including Harry Potter and PJO. Then, later on in the month, I’ll start taking nominations from $5+ patrons for the poll at the Quick Fic tier, and whichever fandom wins the earlier poll (almost certainly Harry Potter, if we’re being honest) will be excluded from that Quick Fic poll, giving chances to other fandoms. The winner of that second poll is obviously guaranteed to get written, but if I’m able to work it into my schedule, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to squeeze in a second Quick Fic featuring the runner-up or third place finisher. That’s obviously all in addition to other Quick Fics throughout the month, including Everyone Wants Harry.

Hopefully this will work out well. I’ll see how things go and figure out if the format needs tweaking going forward, but at least for this month, this is the plan. As always, I welcome any feedback you have to offer as we see how this change looks in action throughout September.
