So kirishima’s design is a little more complicated lol

Very much like Shoto, he is mixed with dozens of other species. This is actually because he is also a shark Mer. A subsection of Shoto’s race, also quite known for being the “voice of reason” and the tolerable version of shark Mer

Unlike the sect that Shoto comes from, where they believe that breeding with other shark mer is how they should evolve as a species, Kiri’s sect believed evolution was through selective breeding with different species. Whenever they believe that their shark DNA is running too thin, they will go back into the shark mer breeding pool

Kiri’s sect is actually what allows other species to live in their territory, as shoto’s sect would normally just cast them out. Both groups do not get along well, and really live together mostly because it’s mutually beneficial

Kirishima species consists of, mainly a hammerhead shark, a sea turtle, king crab, and he has a bit of rainbow fish

The rainbow fish only allows him to mildly change some of his colors. However, this is to explain why his hair can be red
