Something completely new for the Mini Flexi collection today.

The Toy Story Alien has always been a perfect character for playing with different expressions and poses, so instead of releasing just one version, I decided to take this model much further.

This release introduces a completely new concept: a Master File that can generate 27 different Alien combinations.

You can choose between:

3 different mouths

3 different left arm positions

3 different right arm positions

That means:

3 × 3 × 3 = 27 different Aliens

Different expressions, different gestures, different combinations... all starting from the same Master model.

And if you simply want everything ready to print, I have also prepared all 27 combinations for you.

What Is Included

This release includes 3 files:

1. Alien Master File

CATS3D.161 - Alien (Toy Story) Master Model - Cats3D Studio.3mf

Contains both:

Full 8-colour Master version

Simplified 4-colour Master version

This is the customizable version where you can choose your own mouth and arm combination.

2. Alien – 27 Combinations – 8 Colours

All 27 possible combinations already prepared and ready to use with the complete 8-colour setup.

3. Alien – 27 Combinations – 4 Colours

All 27 possible combinations already prepared using the simplified 4-colour setup.

So you can either create your own Alien from the Master File or simply choose one of the 27 ready-made versions.

Master File Manual

The Master File contains all the optional pieces required to create the different poses.

The basic idea is very simple: keep the mouth, left arm and right arm combination you want and delete the optional parts you do not need.

But there is one very important rule.

Never Edit the Original Master

Always keep the original Master model untouched.

There are many optional parts inside the model and it is very easy to delete the wrong object while preparing a combination.

If something goes wrong and you have already modified the original Master, it can be difficult to return to the starting point.

For that reason, always work on a copy.

Step 1 – Create a New Plate

Create a new plate in Bambu Studio.

Copy the complete Master model to the new plate and work only on that copied version.

Leave the original Master model exactly as it is.

Every time you want to create another Alien combination, simply create another plate and copy the Master again.

This way, your original Master always remains available as a clean backup.

Step 2 – Choose the Mouth

There are three mouth options available:

Open Mouth

O Mouth

Closed Mouth

The Open Mouth consists of two objects:

Optional Head Mouth Open

Optional Mouth Open

You must keep both the corresponding head and the separate black mouth part.

The O Mouth also consists of two objects:

Optional Head Mouth O

Optional Mouth O

Again, keep both parts.

The Closed Mouth is different.

It only requires:

Optional Head Mouth Closed

There is no separate black mouth object for this version.

The rule is therefore:

Open Mouth = Head + Black MouthO Mouth = Head + Black MouthClosed Mouth = Head only

Once you decide which expression you want, delete the other mouth options.

Step 3 – Choose the Left Arm

Each arm position is made from two objects:

Arm

Hand

Choose one complete left-side pose and keep both its corresponding arm and hand.

Delete the other optional left arms and hands.

Do not mix the arm from one pose with the hand from another.

Step 4 – Choose the Right Arm

Repeat exactly the same process on the right side.

Each right arm position also consists of:

Arm

Hand

Keep one complete pair and delete the other right-side options.

Your final Alien should therefore have:

1 mouth combination

1 left arm and hand combination

1 right arm and hand combination

Step 5 – Check Your Alien

Before slicing, rotate the model and check it carefully.

Make sure that:

Only one mouth option remains

Only one left arm and hand remain

Only one right arm and hand remain

No unused optional pieces are still overlapping the model

Once everything is clean, your custom Alien is ready to slice and print.

The images in this post show the process and an example of the final result after removing the unnecessary parts.

27 Possible Combinations

The system gives you:

3 mouths × 3 left arms × 3 right arms = 27 combinations

You can create a whole group of Aliens with different expressions and gestures without having to modify the geometry yourself.

And remember: if you don't want to customize anything manually, the two additional files already contain all 27 combinations ready to print.

Printing Notes

The complete version uses 8 colours for the best visual result.

A simplified 4-colour version is also included for members using more limited AMS setups.

The model prints already assembled in the usual Mini Flexi format.

As always, good first-layer adhesion and accurate printer calibration are especially important for the small articulated sections.

Colours Used

For the full-colour version, I used the following Bambu Lab filaments:

White

Black

Bright Green

Cyan

Dark Blue Matte

Yellow

Mandarin Orange Matte

Purple

These colours give the Alien the closest result to the version shown in the photos, with all the small costume details clearly separated.

Models normally rotate after approximately 21 days.

This system helps keep things fair for members who have supported the project for a longer period of time. New members receive access to the models currently active for their tier rather than immediately receiving the same historical collection accumulated by members who have supported the project for many months.

The rotation is approximately 21 days, not one calendar month.
