'At that moment you decide to push the button.  The booby turns into the other hall and a second later the discharge field activates, caging you.

You turn around to face your pursuer and consider dragging it into the field along with you like before.  But it stops and waits before you, seemingly knowing your plan.  By the time it flies into you the field deactivates.

It shifts its form to cover and restrain you.  You're able to hold on to your consciousness but it makes you feel too weak to break free.  Many minutes later another being approaches and covers the rest of your body, and the rest of your consciousness slips away.'

Getting a little worried now

LoboCharity

Dam oh well I'm rooting for both sides so I come out on top 😎

Vusvox

Well....all I'll say is I told you so. I told you so...

Andrew Frisina

It's finnne she's so much more relaxed now. Such a nice decoration. Doesn't have to worry about anything. It's fiiiiiine. I'm sure she has a pretty blank deliriously pleasured face under there while drooling all over herself.

Stryth

Now we've got to wait one or two more seconds THEN hit the button and run before it activates. We might be to trap it behind the field.

Zack Taylor

This is.....really rather frustrating now, it seemed like we had no time left to push it and yet we still get a game over :'(

Vusvox

's like I said in the last post, the very fact that we had no time left to push it is WHY we shouldn't have pushed. It was psyching us out, and it succeeded.

GreenScale Mansion Fund

WEll at least we get the other fine angle of this fine scene, seems we just gotta wait for it to pass at this point!

Vusvox

Don't be frustrated, agents, just take a re-read of my text in the last post, it explains everything. We're not gonna win by pushing the button when it's front of us, not a chance. We just gotta be patient. As for those who are clearly aiming for all the game overs...I get why you're here, but the same game over gets boring eventually, even when viewed from different angles. This much should entice you to help push us a bit further, since you're clearly the voting majority. I implore you to not tank us now when we could get so much further ahead. If this feels patronizing, sorry, I wanna see more game overs too. I'd just rather be pragmatic about it and get to the end first.

I feel like you're expecting too much of people at this point, Ozone.

MrToastsandwich

*Sigh* Can’t say that I’m surprised, really…

ozoneserpent

I thought I taught everyone enough to handle one booby.

MrToastsandwich

I mean, it’s not his fault that we’re stupid.

Song

XD apparently everyone skipped class

Vusvox

Getting Cassandra syndrome over here.

MrToastsandwich

I really didn’t know what to pick here, so I just went with the majority. But yeah, I know the feeling.

BivPlays

So much for that 50-50

ozoneserpent

The good news is if you get the next decision correct you will have conquered this room for good.

MrToastsandwich

Especially considering that we’d be down to our last life by now if we hadn't gotten those extra ones. And we’re barely halfway there!

Eevening

Mission success! I mean mission failed!

PyroJack24

*Head desks* God. Fucking. Damn. It. We're going to reset to 'push the button, don't push it' until we're forced to move on with no lives at this point. Starting to think the only answer is to push the damn thing as it starts coating Cassandra. Because I am now legitimately frustrated with this 'timing' crap. The thing about a timing puzzle, or quick time event, is you see the threat moving, and the appropriate timing. Act too soon (As we seem gifted to do), and repeat game over from another angle with no difference. Push too late, and I guess we'll see. I can't accurately time acting on something when my timing depends on static images. Ozone's "IF" we get the next one right adds pressure I can do without. Because now it boils down to "Get it right and lose two lives, or get it wrong and lose 3, knowing failure is now a razor's edge." I want to see the end, I want to learn all I can about the Boogies, like who made them and what the reason for their creation and being left to absorb everyone into a hive mind. But we only get to screw up three more times. Then it's over.

The Blue Bandit

I seriously doubt we're going to reach the end at this rate.

MrToastsandwich

I haven’t given up yet. But I won't lie, things aren't looking good.

MrToastsandwich

I think you’re right, buddy. No offence to Ozone, but I feel like this timing puzzle doesn’t really work as he had intended. Maybe I’m just dumb, but I actually have no clue what the hell we’re suppose to do in this sequence. It might have worked better if it was a video game with moving pictures, instead of still images, so you could actually tell what you did wrong. I dunno…

Blake Bliz

You all called me a madman but I was right

Arianna Altomare

To be a little fair here, this was the "harder" alternative since we chose to bring it to us, instead of running to it and baiting it earlier.

MrToastsandwich

Yeah well, hindsight’s a bitch. It makes sense NOW.

ozoneserpent

Being an agent isn't about how many things you know. Being an agent is about having guts.

supercomputer276

OK, at least something resembling a strategy is coming together. If it turns after the rewind, it then becomes figuring out the timing for hitting the button then running for the door, so the field activates when it enters our current square. The bomb moves one square per second and the field takes two seconds after the press, so we need to hit it and run when it reaches the square southeast of us - from the square it'll be on after the rewind, that's 4 more seconds. ...Oh, right: https://sta.sh/01cktxuk3y07

ozoneserpent

oh no the SAME CAPTION I've been trolled too now

PyroJack24

But by the same token, we don't know if Cass would reach the button before the Boobie reached HER. Again, we've seen the Boobies are faster than she is. Recount racing the very first after getting her suit; she reached the button the exact same time it coated her, and that room was much smaller than this hallway. When she left the vent to one time, the first Boobie was fast enough to cut her off, and let the other double back and box her in. We know the Boobies can react and move in the span of seconds, but they are alien creatures. Cass is comparable to a human at peak levels. The only way we're going to know her exact limits is for her to try and race a Boobie, or fight one in a test of strength. Plus, she's got psychological disadvantages; she can feel stress, fear, anxiety, she can be unnerved and made sloppy in her reactions. The Boogies are a full hive mind; its impossible for her to trigger the same in them, when they are a collective of minds united as one. And worst of all when we got the bad end for trying to help someone rather than abandon them, we got screwed because she TRUSTED another in a survival situation. She's a single mind, a single person, against a united collective. And it's looking for her.

ozoneserpent

Everyone's been getting out their notebooks and calculators and counting tiles and velocities etc. It wasn't about any of that from the very beginning.

supercomputer276

What can I say? It's technically the same fail.

MrToastsandwich

Are you trying to tell me that we have been overthinking this?!

Vusvox

After how much overthinking we had to do in order to just get through the last loop, I really don't think we're at fault for that here. Maybe it really is just about meeting this thing head on given the transformation.

Vusvox

Yanno, given recent comments about needing guts and us overthinking it, as well as having taught us how to handle boobies before...maybe we really have been overthinking things. Maybe we really do just need to repeat the same strategy as before: let the thing hit us, THEN activate the button. I could be wrong, the two second delay REALLY throws me off, feel like we can't just ignore that, but regardless...we gotta stand out ground.

Vusvox

I'm mostly just trying to avoid feeling resentment here, I can feel a general buildup of that among the agents, which is completely understandable. Hopefully we can make some progress soon before we begin jumping ship.

MrToastsandwich

I miss big guy… At least things were straight forward with him. ”I walk in a circle. That’s what I do.”

Vusvox

Already feeling nostalgic for a segment I was so desperate to get out of not even a month ago.

MrToastsandwich

The thing is, and I really don’t want to sound negative here, this opens up another problem. I’m going to be SUPER paranoid from now on. Should I use my head, should I NOT use my head?! That kind of feeling.

Vusvox

Don't let yourself get psyched out. We're still in this.

MrToastsandwich

I try, agent. But it’s getting harder and harder, morale is low.

ozoneserpent

I'm not saying not to use your head. I'm saying without guts your head will be useless.

MrToastsandwich

*Sigh* I’ll do my best. Just like I always do.

CBJ

Welp, so much for this mission. Hopefully they don't send another agent after this one lmao
