I think he is little down about the amends not going 100% in his favor, but he knows it could of gone worse which he would deserved for taking so long to apologize for and doing what he did in the first place. The only thing he could do that, imo, would be bad is to continue to go back apologize and expecting a different result.

While this was a difficult ordeal for Jonny, it was one he needed to deal with. I doubt he was looking for forgiveness, just acceptance and atonement for his past. And while he knows Venus has every right to not forgive him for the hurt he caused her, they both can at least move forward and possibly have a more pleasant acquaintanceship.
