I'd love to hear your thoughts here - silly and serious, all are welcome! :-)

As Daniel/Arcangelo levels, learns and improves, his repertoire of spells widens. Which spells would you love to see him learn...or attempt to learn? Feel free to add songs to match - otherwise, I'll try to come up with some (probably hilariously bad) matches!

For instance, I've been thinking about adding in a Confusion spell of sorts. Land of Confusion is of course an obvious choice - or maybe something a bit wilder like Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies - it does that "I'm about losing my mind"-thing really well! :D

But fire away - sky's the limit!

Well, if you give us a rough idea of some of the spells you are considering putting into play it'll be a lot easier for us to give suggestions... As for a Confusion spell i must of course first suggest a song by New Order made famous (or maybe infamous?) in the original Blade, I refer of course to "Confusion".... xD Though before you dismiss it entirely, Imagine the effect it would have in a fantasy setting which have no reference for this genre at all... Now imagine it performed on a Violin... Now for a more legit suggestion Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin If you want a feeling for how it'd sound with a Bow, check out this live performance they did in '73 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sarm8rzdY3Y I hope for a further list of effects you want and in the meantime I'll continue considering Confusion effect songs

I forget - how do the "status effect" spells like Sleep or Confusion work? I remember the other spells like Sonic Missile or Stream of Songs involve the music doing something almost physical. That said, I think something like a deafening/disorientation spell would work well - target the inner ear, maybe with something like the Psycho violin screech?

I actually really like the idea of Dazed and Confused for a Confusion spell. Nice pick! It's got that "Hell's going on man?" vibe that I kinda like. As for a list of which spells or effects I'm going for, that's going to be tougher. :-) When I outline a book (as in Book 3) I don't do it in overwhelming detail - more as in: "What do I want from the story? - what should happen in general terms?" "Which protagonists/antagonists have which goals? How should these collide?" "Which scenes and actual happenings do I already know that I want to fit in?" Spells are something I include more from a perspective of "What would make sense for Archie to want to learn?" than anything else.

As for status effects, they check against the target's resistance in that area and then either work, don't work or work partially. (like when Talen partially resists a Stun) And yeah, some sort of disorientation could be very interesting to roll with - and the Psycho screech would be pretty damn good for that. Nice! I've been playing around with the idea of a Fear spell too (classic "make all targets who fail their save run away for 6 seconds" or similar) - it would work for that too, I believe. :-)
