My main question is, how does it compare to This War of Mine in replayability?

The Alters has taken over my life. 2 failed runs and yet here I am plotting out a 3rd, trying a different set of Alters... I have pages of notes... this is the most engrossing and infuriating game I have ever played and yet... I can't escape, send help.

Any thoughts on the DK Bananza direct? I know Marty watched it at least.

Just completed my bridge in a magnetic storm last night, and I have nine days to gather resources and prepare for act 2. My botanist is about to be birthed, and I'm nearing my first major base upgrades. I'm completely engrossed, what an immersive game. One more day, just one more day. Anybody have a favorite Alter? Personally love dude Chad refiner Jan the most so far.

Steady Goblin Wood

How far have you managed to make it on your first two runs? I'm curious.

Insomnia Inc

Slightly into act 3, and then about half way through Act 3, both death by alter rebellion, not gonna spoil anything but there are some moments in that act that... yeah wow.

Game Pass subscribers eating good this year 🤩

Hachi machi! Nick recommending a game that ends up being Yahtzee's favorite?! Are these the end times? Oh wait Sony is indefinitely delaying a generic live service multi-player shooter using an IP that no one asked for, we good.

Luis Perez

Quick question? If so, then why?

So... I was going to make a comment about how destiny players and bungie fans were realizing that bungie was no longer the good old boys that they once thought they were, but then I remembered that destin's biggest haters are destiny players.

With a DK Direct, what are the odds of a Direct before the usual September one? Like with Pokemon ZA and Splatoon Spinoff, will we just get a Nintendo Today updates on things like MP4 release date? I feel since we haven't even seen game play of Air Riders, a game meant for this year, that we'd get a Direct, but the DK direct timing was weird.

2025 is shaping up to be one of my favorite years of game releases ever. I've gotten to experience cerebral puzzles, tense combat, beautiful art design, and powerful stories, and there's still over 5 months to go in the year. Is there anything coming up in 2025 that you think could still surprise you and shake things up?

TooManySpreadsheets

I'm very excited for The Alters, but I have so many demos to play through first (just finished the Hell Is Us demo, that was a cool one). Plus Lies of P Overture. Plus I'm working on my second playthrough of Clair Obscur. This year of games has been too good to me!

Insomnia Inc

Or act 2, I thought the prologue counted as the first act

The games that are landing now were conceived (oh baby!) and developed starting in 2022-2024. Different times. Given the current climate of authoritarianism, new wars and ever-increasing hostility to minority populations, it's going to be interesting to see what lands in 2026-2028. Resistance-themed games? Increased self-censorship? Jingoistic BS games? How do you think the descent into madness is going to affect game content?

Inverse Skies

Nick correctly called marathon being delayed. But is it just kicking the can down the road? With the generally negative reaction to it thus far is delaying to 2026 going to be enough to make enough significant changes to actually salvage the game?

KingDead42

I've just gotten to Act 3, but so far I still think Clair Obscur was more of a stand-out hit for me because the game was just as fun as the story was engaging.

ben smallie

does he take out good or put in bad?

Steady Goblin Wood

Thanks for the non spoiler tips. Sounds like I may need to invest the guard maybe

Insomnia Inc

I've yet to use that one, what I love about the game is there's no guarantee he'll help that situation or make it worse hah
