I’m just glad Code Vein 2 has been dated for January. I’m super hyped as the original was my gateway into soulslikes

I find myself wondering if wolverine is going to be level based rather than an open-world setting like Spider-Man has had up until now. since wolverine obviously can’t get around quite as fast as Spidey it would make sense for it to be smaller location maps, I kind of want to say like the new Hitman games but maybe a bit bigger, what do you guys think?

Hades II released today! Does the reception feel muted because of the early access vs Silksong almost being a shadow drop?

Far Too Many Frogs

Forgot about the Wolverine game tbh. Y'all have kept me with a steady stream of indies, I forgot to remember to take some time to find games for myself, aside from the usual stuff. Unrelated: Any PS1/PS2 recommendations for quintessential era games?

I recall someone recommending the Trails in the Sky FC remake on Windbreakers this week, but Marty didn't want to open the pandora's box of an ongoing 12+ games series. As someone who had not played a Trails game before, I did decide to try out Sky FC, and I do think that you should give it a try, Marty. If anything, maybe put a pin in it and follow up again next year or so when the direct sequel is out (Sky SC). Those two form a single story with Sky The Third as an epilogue/bridge to the next story arc. Only feel like you have to deep dive if you like Sky. That's at least how I am approaching this myself. I do have to second that the turn base system is one of the best that I've seen.

Really minor story related to OD, but I just loved that Kojima was talking about getting a ghost in his soul sucking machine for the game. Allegedly he succeeded and then went to a shrine "with Microsoft" to make sure the game wasn't too haunted. That's the exact kind of silly stuff that I love to see from creatives!

HardRevenge

Don't forget about 9/11 like you shouldn't forget about the files

I am not sure who Wolverine is but the Melinoe lady is super awesome! Can something like Hades 2 be talked about among the other fantastic games coming out? I feel like the length of Early access on Hades 2 will stop any of the hype that usually comes from this.

I finally finished Silksong this week! Very tough, but very satisfying. Do you think the arguments over difficulty would be different if we were talking about a game with a lower profile? I thought Nine Sols was more challenging overall, but Silksong has a much bigger player base.

Hope you mention Ananta, which was shown off at TGS. It's an open world mobile game that looks like a mix of GTA or Saints Row and Spider-man which, unlike many of its contemporaries, has no character gacha (I think it was confirmed things like cosmetics will be gacha.) There is another upcoming game called Duet Night Abyss that also dropped its gacha. Wonder if this will have a knock-on effect on other games. I know KC has talked about playing ZZZ in the past but don't know how deep into the mobile gaming landscape he is.

Inverse Skies

I don’t think I have a specific question this week, but I want to wish you guys a good show in general. It makes my drive / walks to work so much better.

I'm gutted that the Forza news leaked early, even though the writing was on the wall for the game location... I'm picturing the showcase races against some kaijus and Gundam mechs! Anime visual DLC? Lots of cool options available.

Keith (Raven) Baggs

The trailer kind of looks to me like they want to show wolverine's violent side .. But it is tempered with it looking like maybe you're just killing cyborgs. There were a lot of energy sparks in all that dismemberment footage.

Brokastel

I've only played about an hour of Silent Hill f but what I've seen already has me hooked. Really glad that by all accounts Ryukishi seems to have knocked it out of the park narratively (not least because now I get to venus flytrap people into When They Cry)

Tommy Salty

As I see some tactics games in the list here, is it a prerequisite for you to have it set in a known IP (Final Fantasy / Fire Emblem), or would you consider giving a chance to some classics like XCOM2 or Menace (a new game that looks very interesting)?

Andy Hunter

Hearing that the Wolverine game is bloody has me thinking — would you ever want to see a return to the days when you’d have to enter a code to see the bloody version of a game? I’m wondering if having a tamer version of a comic book game would let more kids play it (since comics were, once upon a time, aimed at children), or if the Internet has ruined that and every kid would just look up the code anyway.

Alex Kopel

Traversal was a huge part of what made infamous & Spiderman feel great. How will the Wolverine game make movement feel unique? Leap attacks or wall-climbing isn't that rare anymore

Will Cooling

Could we give a shout out to the team behind Football Manager including publishers Sega? Like all sports sims its on an annual release cycle but they had earmarked last year for a big upgrade to the UI, match engine and more. Realising that it wasn't ready to release they scrapped a year's update, and are now preparing to finally launch the new look game for this season. To choose to sacrifice guarunteed money by refusing to release a substandard game really is admirable

The NPCs in Silent Hill f are so unsettling. It's so creepy how in a cutscene you're talking to someone, but then they just... vanish when you enter gameplay.
