I think an important facet of Revenge of the Savage Planet is that Journey was lost in IP limbo for quite some time when the dev went under after the game released thanks to Google IP shenanigans. Theoretically, we were never going to get another one but we got a sequel anyways. So grats to the devs for getting the IP rights back and releasing a sequel. Date Everything, conceptually, strikes me as a game about someone profoundly lonely that they feel the need to give life to everything in their house then try (and fail, that seems to be how all of the relationships end) to date whatever/whomever they can get their hands on. It didn't come across as quirky or funny, just obscenely pathetic and sad. I understand that that's not the point and we're not supposed to think about it but that was the primary takeaway from the trailer when I first saw it and I never really shook that impression. The idea that you shut yourself off from the world and bring inanimate objects to life for companionship is a level of isolated I genuinely fear for

I know it’s a throwaway gag, but illustrating ‘the author’s descent into madness through gradual loss of grammar and punctuation skills’ with “bimble bimble noodly doodly splat” hit me right in the funny bone. Quite the hilarious juxtaposition.

You can only shine your light on things, not even shoot lasers while scuttling around like getting to play as one of the Guardians from Breath of the Wild?

Realising that a scant week ago we weren’t “practically at war with Venezuela” enough to judge 2025 as “probably worse than this year” was a depressing realisation.

....not a single one of these games, judging by the thumbnails alone, interest me enough to try them and form my own opinion.
