Hey all! In honor of the 13th falling on a Friday this month, Yahtzee and Jesse Schwab put together a little treat. Here's 20 minutes of Yahtzee attempting to go through the lore of the Friday the 13th film franchise.

As you might be able to guess, this video contains big ol' gore and some gnarly kills, so viewer discretion is advised. Maybe don't watch this one around kids, pets, or anyone who isn't a sicko.

Once again, thank you SO MUCH for supporting us on Patreon -- that financial stability allows us to continue making very fun, very dumb vids like this one.

Cheers, and have a great weekend!

Yahtzee goes Hollywood with an exploration of the Friday the 13th franchise... movies that make about as much sense as a machete to the cranium. Support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SecondWindGroup Second Wind Merch: https://shop.secondwindgroup.com

I was just wondering what to watch during lunch. Didn't even make it to YouTube before this popped up!

Great stuff guys! Felt time a team effort on this one

Vampwire

Part 9 also has the Necronomicon Ex Mortis in the background from Evil Dead which is where all of the "Jason is a Deadite" stuff comes from

Cameron Gore

Tagline for the series "Describing the lore, so you don't have to!"

Of course Yahtzee "I Don't Watch Films" Crowshaw has not only seen all the Friday the 13th movies, but saw Freddy vs Jason in theaters. That only makes sense.

Fun fact: There are 3 Friday the 13th's in 2026! February, March and November. Truly the best of times.

I love these so much. It never ceases to be enjoyable, and I always learn bits a pieces of trivia that I didn't have any idea about.

In Jason Goes to Hell, the original plan was for Jason to be revealed to be a Deadite from the Evil Dead movies, and the dagger that killed him was the Kandarian Dagger from the first 2 movies. That's also why the Evil Dead version of the Necronomicon was in their home. While this plot point was dropped in the movie because of Rights issues, it was made "canon" in the comics Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.

Hellraiser lore read next, please! 🙏

I never knew the first film was about his mother.

Antiphar

If that was your whole experience of cinema you'd give it up for good too lol

And he also guest starred in Mortal Kombat. But then who hasn't?

It's not so much lore as synopsis but I think it would be cool to do all of the Bond films. Having watched all of them in order for the first time last year. And quite enjoying the experience. Connery is my favorite Bond. And I barely consider half of the Brosnan films to be Bond movies. And I don't consider any of the Daniel Craig films to be Bond movies, except a portion of Spectre and No Time To Die, but not even a quarter of either. I do love Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig mind you, I just don't consider their Bond movies to be proper Bond movies. Watch Knives Out if you want to see Craig being a fantastic actor. Also, I think Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby's Bond movies are criminally underappreciated.

I've never watched any Friday the 13th movies because I don't like horror movies... I find them too gorey. But watching this, I realised two things; first, the plot of a lot of these movies is COMPLETELY STUPID. Second, the gore is actually ridiculous and not scary at all. Most of those kills looked incredibly fake. I'm also very confused about Jason Goes To Hell and then Jason X; Jason dies at the end of Jason Goes To Hell (and he goes to hell), so how is he then alive in Jason X? His resurrection was completely glossed over, especially since he was apparently killed for good by his niece at the end of Jason Goes To Hell.
