Destiny just announced their plans for end of live updates of D2. Do you think the IP has enough legs for a D3, or do you think Bungie has burned too much trust for D3 to have legs

Big Goss

I know Warhorse will do a great job with the LotR IP, but a game in the style of KC:D set in Westeros would be fantastic. Especially if they set it during The First Blackfyre Rebellion or Roberts Rebellion.

Who would be the best devs to make Pokemon finally realize it's true potential? Genius Sonority made two absolute bangers and I don't feel anyone has reached that level since.

Jason Ferro

I think the player base would take a D3, if it's done properly of course. But if they continue showing they only care about money, it'll have a short leash.

Mopman43

I’ve wanted this for ages- a Mordheim game (Warhammer setting where a bunch of small bands of mercenaries and fanatics fight over radioactive crack in a ruined city), made by Firaxis using their Xcom engine.

I would love to see Rockstar make a Star wars game. They build such cool, living worlds and I'm love to get lost in a tattooine or corescant that they made

Oh love this topic. I have a few very specific ideas: FromSoftware making a souls-like of Gandalf's visit to Dol Guldur pre the events of The Hobbit. Exploring a cursed fortress on the edge of Mirkwood, investigating the potential return of Sauron's spirit to the area, finding Thrain in the dungeons and obtaining the key to Erebor etc. Original ZA/UM crew making Disco Elysium 2. Sigh. Or since we are talking dream IPs, original ZA/UM doing the X-Files Persona devs making a Cowboy Bebop turn-based RPG.

Similar vein - Larian making an Inquisitor game using the D:OSII/BG3 tech would be amazing

Charles Reimer

I largely don't want non-video game IPs eating up quality devs. I am just over cross media empires. Probably not helped by said IPs often being so tiring to even think about like Star Wars and I guess now Middle Earth.

Steady Goblin Wood

Shoot let's get a One Piece LEGO game going. That could be a ton of fun. Slow clap shang-chi action would be a ton of fun. Also don't know why but a naughty dog Constantine sounds fun too

Simon Lane's Luscious Toesies

Vanillaware doing Chrono Trigger Raven doing Halo Kojima doing Wanted: Dead Warhorse doing Dragon Age Hello Games doing Mass Effect Double Fine doing Viva Pinata Playground Games doing Burnout But most of all Swery doing X-Files

1stly, I would love to see a remaster/remake of Zelda 2 by Wayforward; 2nd and maybe more importantly, grats on 100 episodes of Firelink =D

How about Remedy doing a Supernatural (TV) action adventure game? That franchise ship has well sailed by now but as an IP has lots of scope, and the monster-of-the-week format could work well if level-based. Hunters vs baddies multiplayer too?

The community. Seriously, the amount of work / passion that goes into projects like modding, game decompiling, fan made remakes like black mesa, new level packs, or fan translations like mother 3 both extend the life of games we love but bring so many new options to the table we couldn’t have enjoyed otherwise.

While I think a lot of existing video game IP is a little tired, there are some older properties I’ve recently encountered that could have an interesting video game in them: The Slough House books/Slow Horses TV show. You play as Jackson Lamb and have to manage your stable of defective spies to get to the bottom of various national crises, compensating for and exploiting their personal flaws as necessary. You can develop spies' skills but they can also die, XCOM-style. Give it to 11 Bit Studios (This War of Mine, The Alters) and have it mostly set in the Slough House offices, which you get to gradually expand and upgrade as you complete missions, but only in mundane, marginal ways (replacing a broken water-cooler with a marginally-functional one raises office morale, e.g). Sucker Punch makes a game based loosely on The Three Musketeers, similar to Ghost of Yōtei, but instead of the Samurai Code, it’s based around the value system of the French martial nobility circa 1625. You fight duels on points of honor, gamble, feud with M. Le Cardinal’s musketeers, carry on performative love affairs with noble ladies, and find ways to finance your lifestyle, all while participating in the intrigues of Louis XIII's court. Paradox (Crusader Kings) gets the license to the 2005 Lionhead Studios game The Movies, and makes a turn-based strategy game set in 1940s Hollywood, where you play an executive trying to work your way to the top of the studio ladder, dealing with demanding bosses, unstable stars, neurotic directors, gossip-hungry columnists, and the looming specter of the HUAAC hearings. Supergiant Games gets the NBA Street license, makes an isometric 3-on-3 arcade basketball game.

My other answer is give Yasumi Matsuno (the director of final fantasy tactics / tactics ogre) a fire emblem game to see what he could do with that series.

AnewArtist

Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton was one my friend and I would say would be so cool, but probably wouldn't happen... but it did! Now, I really want a "The Slayers" anime series to get a game made by the "Tales of" team! Maybe a tactics RPG by Vanillaware or FFT teams, but taking place in Hyrule!

TooManySpreadsheets

It would be interesting to see Sucker Punch return to their comic book/superhero roots and do an X-Men game, one that emphasizes real-time team coordination and switching between characters with very different powers and playstyles. I remember liking that about the Sly Cooper games, especially 3.

LookItsChefEric

I think Platinum Games doing Dark Void is a match in heaven, crazy jetpack based combat by the Bayonetta peeps? Hell yeah

Insomnia Inc

Might need a set of necromancers at this point but the lore and world of Dragon Age would pair up nicely with Telltale.

Shane Z

Middle Earth seems perfect for an open world adventure. It also seems so easy to mess up. If I was going to true someone to try I think they are as good of a pick as any.

Mr.and.Mrs.Monarch

Elder-scrolls style RPG set in the world of Dinotopia.
