That’s easy: FF7 part 3.

Fas

I'm excited for so many games and tbh trying to fit stuff into my schedule is anxiety inducing lol

Blindman

A low for me was not seeing the new Spyro game announced live.

Brandon R

Definitely RE Veronica. Very curious to see if they end up writing 5 and 6 out of canon. I would prefer to see them rewritten and fixed rather than discarded entirely.

ImmenseCookie

The gameplay demo / deep dive videos Xbox put out today for Fable, SoD 3 and Halo were great to see as continued content after the showcase

Jason Ferro

My most anticipated is the Monster Hunter expansion. But I'm very intrigued by the Alters DLC. Definitely need a Fully Ramblomatic on that.

Bartender

Very excited for RE Veronica. I also thought that the "V" title reveal was trying to imply that it is essentially the 5th game in the series, leaving 5 & 6 behind as they grow their remake continuity. I was suprised to only hear this take from Marty across my games media outlets (Second Wind being the best of course). Are Marty and I geniuses or do you think we can expect remakes of 5 and, god forbid, 6?

Steady Goblin Wood

Kingdom Hearts IV in the nintendo showcase was not on my bingo card but I'll take it! I didn't have time for the entire indie showcase because of my newborn, any highlights in the indie space that I missed?

Long time listener, first time writer! This was a fantastic Summer Game Fest - my favourite yet! I had a grand total of 42 games added to my wishlist across the week, though a few of these games had been previously announced. Truly an unprecedented amount for me! Thanks for streaming, Marty. I will keep an eye out of my windows. Aside from Control Resonant (an easy #1 for this Remedy fan!), which will be my September game, the new wishlist additions I'm most excited by are Oh, My Doug, Light of Atlantis and Exodus!

It should be FF7 part 3. As a huge Final Fantasy fan and having greatly enjoyed the last two games in the trilogy you'd think it'd be a shoe in for my most anticipated game. Despite Square Enix putting this trilogy out relatively quickly for an industry plagued by long development cycles, I can't seem to muster the same enthusiasm I felt for the last two entries. Much like tv shows that take years to come out with new seasons, the momentum just feels lost. I also have the same disease as Marty and will feel compelled to replay the other games leading up to part 3.

Far Too Many Frogs

It sucks that my most anticipated game is an Xbox title. Not gears, not fable, not even halo. Clockwork Revolution. Looks like a mishmash of steam-powered giraffe and bioshock, and I love it.

I was mostly happy to get a release date for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Unfortunately, it is the same day as Trails in the Sky SC Remake. Sorry Falcom, I've heard a lot of great things about Sky SC, but I've been with Fire Emblem since 2005. Fortune's Weave looks like it might be the best in the series in nearly a decade by taking what was fun about Three Houses but (hopefully) buffing out some of the rougher edge from that first go-round.

Just counting new announcements, Exodus is probably my most anticipated from SGF, which is funny considering I haven't played any of the Mass Effect games, but it looks really intriguing. And I'm very excited for The Alters DLC, that was one of my favorites from last year. If we're expanding to all the various indie showcases from the weekend, I'd also add Curse of Resthaven, The Hearth and Harbour, The Outer Frame, Appa, Magicians: The Devil's Deal, and Tempus Vitae (plus like 40 others). So many cool games coming up!

Seeing Tai again in Gears- Eday was the coolest moment for me, but the most interesting moment was Xbox reigniting the console war. Hard to tell if that’s a high or low, but hopefully it makes these studios compete more. I miss E3

Lil' Cass (CJ)

Spyro A Realm Beyond, Deltarune Chapter 5, Doom The Dark Ages Revelations, and Splatoon Raiders

Lil' Cass (CJ)

That was my first guess with RE Veronica given that the initials for it first showed up as RE V before saying Resident Evil Veronica.

Lil' Cass (CJ)

Same, I got Warframe Jade Shadows Constellations on June 17th, Deltarune Chapter 5 on June 24th, the Splatoon Raiders Direct on June 30th, Doom The Dark Ages Revelations DLC on July 7th, watching TennoCon weekend the weekend of July 10th, No Man's Sky is turning 10 in August, and Kingdom Hearts coming out on PS5 in October.

The game that got me the most excited was Persona 6, though I was disappointed with the teaser. I remember seeing the same style teaser for Persona 5 years ago, the one with the chains and chairs. From that teaser it was another 3 or 4 years before the game came out and I fear this will be the case for P6. Thankfully I have the rest of this year to beat Persona 3 Reload and next year will be Persona 4 Revival, so I'm not too heartbroken.

Plop_Tart

Happy to see that TMNT the Last Ronin isn’t dead in the water! I’m cautiously optimistic that Platinum Games will see this project through and if nothing else create an engaging combat system for the IP!

Inverse Skies

The book that the exodus is based on (fittingly called exodus) is a two part series with its second part due out next week. I can’t wait!

Shane Z

Perhaps I am part of the problem, but my three most anticipated games of this year are all 20 plus year old remakes. I played so much Star Fox 64 as a kid I can't wait to play it again, I don't care if ocarina of Time had a 3DS remake, I'm thrilled for another go at it. Halo? Did we need the remake? Probably not, I'm going to buy it and I'm going to play it because I loved Halo back in its Hay Day.

Mateusz Swietoslawski

I feel like at this point the entire industry would be better off if GTA VI fot canceled.

TooManySpreadsheets

Congratulations on the newborn! I watched all of the various indie showcases (well, skimmed at least), and here are a bunch that looked interesting to me! Sorry in advance for the long list; my name is Spreadsheets for a reason. Beastro (out today), 13Z, Agni, Am I Nima, Appa, Ascenders, Bad Magpie, BioEden, Black Jacket, Bulbo's Belief System, Burn-9, Chessfall, Chromatide, Chronoscript, Curse of Resthaven, Desktop Explorer, Don't Fret, Edenfall, Fallosophy, Farsight, From Ruins, Ghostless, Impermamence, Inferius, Kosenki, Koshmar, Letter Lost, Monomoon, Neighborhoods, Prophet Margin, Prove You're Human, Raji Kaliyuga, Rivage, SHADE Protocol, Shutter Story, Signet City, Sonzai, Straycloud, Tempus Vitae, The Hearth and Harbour, The Outer Frame, The Pines, The Road of Dust and Sorrow, Threads of Time, Toya, Truth Scrapper, Wilderings. Phew!

Azkai

The cassette beasts sequel had me smiling. I really enjoyed the first game and the sequel looks like a big step up.

stickmangrit

new God of War looks cool, shame i'll never get to play it unless Sony reconsiders PC ports...

Steady Goblin Wood

Oh right on. Looks like a lot but I'll still check all of these out. Thanks!

A Winged Potato

Meaningless Random Numbers, Doomsday Diner, and Kooeh: A Timeless Delight are probably my picks, but I don’t think these were the most compelling showcases to my tastes.

Brad L

P4 Revival. I’ve been putting off a replay of P4G because I knew this was coming out. Good to finally have a release date.

Brandon

The high point was that OG Anunoby tip in against the Spurs last night …. also Resident Evil: Veronica

Inverse Skies

I’m going to share the perspective of someone who whilst clearly being very interested in games (you have to be to be this deep into the culture where you’re commenting on patreon posts) is not in games media, and I think that’s an important distinction. This past week hasn’t really filled me with enthusiasm, more like a sense “there’s too many games and I simply can’t get to them”. Between full time work abs kids my gaming time is already limited, and my backlog is full already with interesting (to me at least) games. I just can’t get enthused at adding more games to a list to simply never play them. If this were my job, I think I would be super keen, but this is my release outside of other commitments in my life and piling more into it just doesn’t work unfortunately.

TooManySpreadsheets

If you have any particular preferences in games, I can try to get more specific!

Horus

The thing about God of War is that they made Sekmat just a woman; she is a pretty woman and all. But Sekhmet is the lion-headed goddess of war, I feel like they could have given her a more lion-like design instead of just going for a pretty woman . That was the low for me; otherwise, it was fine.

Fuzzy Freestyle

I know I'm in the minority here, but I have zero hype for the Ocarina of Time Remake. I feel most people are nostalgia blind when it comes to that game. There are better Zelda games
