Well, I think the reason a lot of these types of games don't get covered in regular games media is because for a lot of industry types, party games just aren't that interesting. As popular as this game is, it sounds like something I would never play, as I almost exclusively play single player. I also don't really care about what streamers play, as I would rather play games myself than see what's popular with influencers.

Not to mention these games are fun with friends, and if none of yours want to play then you are stuck with random people. I don’t think I need to tell people here on the internet how bad random people online can get.

I know nothing about this genre (has no friends), but RV There Yet? is an insanely excellent game title.

Games like Meccha Chameleon, Peak, or any other party game, get their allure from the fact that whether you play it with friends or see clips online, they are entertaining. Laughing with friends when someone does something stupid or incredibly smart. Or seeing a streamer do a best chameleon art vid. You either play the game with friends, see clip-able moments in your feed, or engage with longer streams/vods. The core feeling is the same, it is the fun of playing a good mechanic that isn't over complicated and doesn't require dual high end gpu's to have it run well. Its the fun and happiness given by early flash games or DOS games. Simple ideas, executed well, with just enough fluff to make it different.
