Steady Goblin Wood

I am beyond upset that the KH4 worlds leaked. Waiting for the world announcements and discovering them as you play is one of my favorite parts of the games. BOOOOOO

HelpPMB

What an absolutely generational fumble by Sony, letting Kojima go. Completely baffling that this has happened again (after Konami) - surely Kojima would have been a guaranteed money printing machine for them. Nuts!

frogparts

Not even the worst gaming news of the day for me. I dropped my steam deck and cracked the screen this morning :(

Lil' Cass (CJ)

It's not the first time Kojima is dealing with relationships falling apart in the video game industry (see: Konami), but in light of Sony's July 1st PlayStation Blog post where physical game discs will stop in January 2028 and the continuing backlash towards that, Sony pulling the plug on Kojima is especially harsh: even more so with Metal Gear Solid Collection Volume 2 having recently come out and thus finally bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to PS5

$130 for a replacement screen. Very expensive stupid mistake

Back to Back directs and no Nintendo Boys on stream? Would love to hear your thoughts on Metroid Ravenous, Kirby and the World Beyond and the other announcements.

Do you think the OoT remake will drive hardware sales the same way a new mainline Zelda title would? I don't have a Switch 2 yet and the remake has me wavering but probably not capitulating

The lifelong zelda fan in my is really looking forward to the Ocarina remake, though I must confess I'm disappointed that they don't appear to be doing much to change things up from the original like RE2 or FF7 did. That surprise Metroid Ravenous announcement, though made me all the happiest.

i heard some folks say Death stranding 2 was a commercial disappointment relative to the first, so maybe Sony doubts Kojima as a guaranteed money maker and thinks his proposed development budget and timeline is too ambitious. I am curious if you poll a random, more casual gamer (which most of the SW audience probably doesn’t fall under), does the name Kojima hold any weight/prestige. Or is the prestige for the more casual gamer in the Metal Gear name, and that Kojima’s ideas are too difficult to market without that Personally, i am glad Kojima was able to find a new spot with microsoft cuz i like having weirdo auteurs in the gaming space

Charles Reimer

With their live service dreams up in smoke, their continued sidelining of Japanese partners, and cracks showing in their semi-homogenous AAA titles (Wolverine seems to be getting middling review scores), I am more and more convinced that we are entering the final decade or so of PS. I think PS6 and Helix will be the last major consoles due to the rising costs overtaking the willingness of a casual market. As third party publishers, the lack of diversity will harm PS by 2040. Xbox can soldier on like Sega did due to their diverse offerings (even if they continue to contract), but I don't think PS has much of a future.

toktok_woktok

I didn't catch your stream, what was you impression on Orbitals so far?

Brewbrarian

Regarding Sony dropping Physint: this feels as clear an indication as any that nothing is sacred for the current Sony leadership. They don't care about their customers (beyond how much short-term wealth they can extract from them) and their investment in beloved studios/creators seems to be waning by the day. Beyond the clear gains they stand to get from the GTA 6, does Sony think that is enough to carry them through all the ill will that continues to compound from all these decisions? PS. Probably reaching here, but Sony has been working with Konami an awful lot lately based on their presence in the last few State of Plays...what curious timing to follow that up by dropping Kojima's project!

Plop_Tart

I apologize Ocarina of Time remake, I wasn’t familiar with your game… One of the most polished and beautifully detailed remakes I’ve ever seen, then to top it off Nintendo really announced a release date 1 week before GTA 6. What, a, FLEX!

Jeffrey

Marty, i want you to know that your 'shock/joy' face is so burned in my mind that it was playing on repeat during the whole nintendo direct OoT reveal. Which temple are you most excited to revisit in this with the graphics improvement?

Fuzzy Freestyle

Excited ti hear your thoughts on Onimusha. I had a blast playing it this week and feel like it's already lost in the shuffle of the September release deluge. It was a pretty beefy game too. I was expecting it to be 10-15 hours like Pragmata or modern Resident Evil. Imagine my surprise when I wrapped the game after 25 hours and it only felt a little padded.

JoMo SlowMo

So, do we think that herman hulst activated a randomizer mod for executives, or are they all ineptobabies that keep fumbling for the love of the game?

Freakjob

I was going to pose the same question based on what I've been hearing online, plus the fact that he was outspoken about Sony getting rid of physical discs.

Shane Z

I was 8 years old when ocarina of Time came out. Back then you generally only had a few games, compared to the endless amount out there today. I would love to know how much time I spent in that world just running around doing nothing. I wish I could still get sucked into a game like that. I am very excited for the remake, I think it looks great, and excited to jump in so many places that link has never jumped before. Also, I'll buy GTA eventually but Zelda is 100% getting my money first.

Juicy Jeff

Just be glad that Valve is a great company that allows you to buy parts and repair yourself, rather than telling you to buy a new one at the new inflated price.

Juicy Jeff

Why do all of the character faces in OOT Remake look like the Forest God from Princess Mononoke?

jombilywobbily

What’s this drama about? Has Kojima been badmouthing people for their words and deeds again? OoT Remake looks so damned good, something off about the frame rate, but still

Inverse Skies

Unrelated, but did you guys see the alpha build of project dream, rares snes game that would eventually go on to become banjo kazooie, has dropped online?

KingRaptor28

KC. How about the Italian Grand Prix?! What a race for Kimi! It was extra funny to watch a HP commercial with George Russell and Kimi Antonelli as they think there jobs are in jeopardy during the football game last night. Do you feel bad for George?

Andy Curtis

Do you guys think the next Zelda might be a more traditional one with the crazy preorder success of OOT? Also curious to hear your thoughts on Wolverine?

Lil' Cass (CJ)

1 week? I thought GTA 6 was coming out on November 19th, not November 12th
