‘Cause people be hatin’! Next question

A Winged Potato

I assume it is breaking the internet because so many PS5 owners were putting their hopes in it to make their console purchase feel worth it

Will Cooling

I don't get the backlash tbh. I got it for my birthday, and played it for four hours and really enjoyed it. Yes it's linear and a bit hand-holdey, but I don't want to be running around looking for obtuse clues. I want to kill people with my metal claws!

Juna Crocuta

"breaking the internet" wtf does this even mean. what did it ever mean. why is the world burning

ImmenseCookie

Marty, can we get a weeb vibe check from the Japan-focussed showcases? Are we only at minor levels or full-on weeb shit overload?

Andy Curtis

Around the PS1/2 era you'd get hundreds of mid-tier games like this that would be fine to rent for a weekend. I miss that.

I don't think people are just annoyed with the singular game Wolverine; I think people are getting more and more pissed off at Sony's generational fumble over the years (Concord, ending physical media, raising prices, deleting digital movies people paid for, losing Kojima, saying it should be obvious you own nothing etc) AND people are getting more and more pissed off at the increasingly none optional guardrails and handholds over the years (haphazard splatterings of yellow paint everywhere, obvious waypoints, main characters talking to themselves about what to do/where to go, unfailable QTEs etc) that this is just a build-up of 2 waves of annoyances pointed directly at the new Sony game that has many many handholds. A whole lot of tiny issues people have been getting increasingly annoyed about for years (like a pot slowly boiling) all summarised in one place. The straw that broke the camel's back and all that

Don’t own a PS5 , so this whole thing is mystifying to me. Replaying Control ahead of the sequel’s release next week.

Will Cooling

Also Marty, it's ironic that you keep calling Wallace & Gromit and Shawn the Sheep "continental" because they're made in Britain, and so are not from a continent! Indeed we use the phrase "continental" to describe things that come from mainland Europe.

Fuzzy Freestyle

I don't think any game that comes out this month has a chance at standing out or making a big impact on the year as a whole. It seems like all we're getting are solid, but forgettable games and with so many coming out, it all becomes a blur. Can you think of any game that came out this month that would be a Game of the Year contender?

TooManySpreadsheets

With no PS5, I will be playing "20 More, Somehow Even Smaller, Mazes," which just released today for $0!

Mrticketron

Look i was watching the stream last night and marty had a cutscene where wolverine took a spear he got stabbed with and stabbed two guys with it. And it was the most awkward childish cutting of such a violent shot. From there i just fully understand what skillup was saying. They made an E for everyone game just with a language filter and blood effects turned up to MK levels. Also the gameplay just reminds me of that werewolf game a couple years back but also 360 era level action games that i know insomniac is better than.

bluemage27034

Completely unrelated to anything, they're speed running titanium court on the gdq channel right now and i thought Marty should know.

For those the played Wolverine, what do you think is a price that would’ve lessened the blowback this game is getting? Would $50 rather than $70 do it? I know due to its massive budget it pretty much needs to be priced as is, but just curious. As for me, been playing thru the MGS games for the first time. Just beat the End (the character, not the end of the game) in MGS3 which was a wild experience

DNJ

Must have been a slow week.

Blistered Soul

We’re getting less and less, while $70+ is demanded. Wolverines hate comes in the crossfire of Sony’s contempt for gamers. Zero respect for physical media or ownership. $300 mil budget while better games fail, studios close, creativity & innovation is punished.
