The concept that came up in the conversation about looking at long running game series first titles vs its modern titles and how the identity has changed over literal decades was actually really fascinating! Resident Evil 1 vs 7. Final Fantasy. Silent Hill. Maybe some Nintendo titles. I would love to hear more thoughts on the subject of how some of these titles stayed the same and expanded their identity for the better or the worse. Or failed to establish an identity at all, just having a small sort of aesthetic identity as Marty put it. Great listen! Thanks

That Member I Hate

On assessing the “it was all a metaphor” type story: I think the same principle applies like when Yahtzee was reviewing spiritfarer. The surface level narrative of the metaphor needs to be engaging otherwise it just turns into: it was all a dream PhD

Quirked Up White Boy

Not sure why they patched out the endgame puzzle. You know how most Silent Hill games deal with not everyone liking the puzzles? Puzzle difficulties... (which this game sort-of has, but I guess doesn't seem to use). Silent Hill feels like it's almost becoming an episodic series like Twilight Zone but with more guilt and metaphor. Also, I think in the best ending, Simon stabs himself as he is the one who grabbed the scalpel. He accepted the heart as part of the deal with Richard, so I think that was him going back on the deal. Like "y'know, I accepted this heart and said that I would lie for you, but I no longer want to cover for you so you can have the heart back."

“The company cutting corners and the safety of the oil rig is in jeopardy” why not just write the presumable spoiler it huge font on the main page? Not cool
