Yeah, putting aside that “woke” is such a nebulous term that it can mean anything, progressiveness in games and the drama surrounding it is more free advertising than anything else. For every person that doesn’t buy the game because of something quote-unquote “woke”, you have someone who will. I think a lot of the talent just left and, with it, a lot of the writing chops.

Oh, rest assured, it's begun. YouTube suggested a video to me the other day with a thumbnail contrasting the default male Commander Shepard on the left with a blue-haired elf character on the right (who I presume is from Veilguard), captioned something like "The Downfall of Bioware."

Thanks for this video. When I read about the closer on mmorpg.com there was someone blaming "woke" for it. I swear, every other sentence had "woke" "left" "trans" in it at least once.

Which I found both exhausting and ironic. If Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3 released today they would also be called ‘woke’ given various bits of content in them.

They made crappy games and ultimately had to close because of it end of story lmao
