Great tutorial, good explanation of the methods and reasons! Easily applicable to other chapters of space marine. I especially liked how you talked about highlighting and shadows on a space marine. It’s a lot of circles and cylinders.

Thanks for appreciating. We put a lot of love in our tutorials, specially in this one 🙏🏻

Loved it, excited to try some new things from this. Can I ask what brushes are used for the edge highlights and smaller details?

The Joust Studio

Glad to hear that Chris! I used Raphael 8404 size 1. It is very pointy so perfect for edge highlights and such

Awesome video! One thing I wanted to ask about is your mix for your Macragge base layer through the airbrush. It’s the one thing I’m seeming to have a difficult time getting, as mine is coming out much darker then yours. Are you using flow improver, thinner or anything else of the likes to get a better finish or more true blue? Can’t wait to see you more!

The Joust Studio

Hi there! Glad you like it. We put a lot of love and effort on this video 🙌🏻 I always add 2-3 drops of flow improver-paint (Macragge in that case)- 2-4 drops of thinner. The goal is getting that milky consistency that would not spiderweb or clog the airbrush. Over black you will need 2-3 thin layer to get a good coverage. Hope this helps!
