🇬🇧 Today we’re kicking off a new series with Logan Grimnar. In this episode we’ll show you how to paint the Wolfspear grey armor — the classic grey scheme from our PDF guide, now brought to life in video so you can follow step by step.

Up next: how to paint the fur, the axe, the OSL effects, and the snow base.

Man I really like this Wolf Spear color scheme! Great video.

Love this video, very timely as i'm painting this guy now. I heard you mention varnish in this video and it's something i've been curious about for a while. I often rub the corners of the mini when painting by accident and take some paint off, does varnish help with that? Also which varnish do you use and how do you apply it. Forgive me if you already have a video covering this

The Joust Studio

Thank you James! Yes, varnish does help with that. I usually apply a satin varnish after the airbrush work and the oil wash, to fix the oil paint but also to protect the paint. It helps but it’s not indestructible 😅 I just apply a thin cost through the airbrush

This looks amazing! I've just ordered the paints to do this shade of grey on my logan. Hes sitting on my shelf ready :D You didn't cover it in the video, but what are you using to highlight the black armor in this scheme? Dark Reaper?

The Joust Studio

Thank you! I used the same recipe than the black Templars, Stegadon mainly.

Johnny

is there a video on how you painted his face? it looks incredible

The Joust Studio

Thank you! I used same recipe than Lysander’s face, check out this video

Johnny

i dont mean to spam! what colors did you use for his hair?

The Joust Studio

I used black+dark sea grey —> dark sea grey—> medium grey (all from AK) but use any brand. Dark grey on recesses and then using a lighter grey for the hairs a the tip whit white
