Many of you have told me you’re a bit intimidated by the airbrush. In the first video of this airbrushing series, I’ll give you an introduction to help you understand how it works, the different types available, their price ranges, and everything you need to get started.

In the next videos, we’ll cover maintenance, the most common issues, and different ways to use it.

If you enjoyed it and want to see the next part soon, make sure to like the post and leave a comment!

Thanks for the great airbrush walkthrough! Thanks to it I also discovered the whole “toolbox” category, which looks super useful. I’m really looking forward to the next video, because at the moment the hardest part for me is still paint consistency. One interesting discovery for me was that you use primer with Airbrush Flow Improver, but not thinner. I noticed you work with Vallejo. I sometimes use Mr. Hobby 1500 with Self Leveling Thinner/Medium, because the black feels better to me and seems to cover more smoothly. Also, the fact that it can be sanded if needed is a big plus. I have a few technical questions for you as a professional: Do you replace the seals in your airbrush, and if so, how often? How often do you replace nozzles and needles? I have an Infinity from 2021, bought used from a friend who used it as his second airbrush, and it has already painted quite a lot of terrain and miniatures — probably around 1000 models or pieces by now. How do you clean the deeper internal parts of the airbrush? Sometimes I notice paint on almost the entire needle, as if the paint is flowing back quite far inside the airbrush. And finally, apart from priming, base coating, and shading, what other techniques do you recommend practicing with an airbrush for miniature painting? Thanks again — really looking forward to the next part!
