I'm happy to announce that, after almost 1.5 years of development, the first season of Being a DIK is now live on Steam! If you're interested, get it here.

As you know, I have big plans for this game in the future and what's available today is the lengthy start of a long adventure.

It couldn't have been achieved without the support I've received from all of you here on Patreon.

The support I've received during development of this game made it possible for me to start working as a full-time indie developer and that has been a dream come true.

Trading cards and community items will be activated as soon as possible; the artwork is ready to go, all that's missing is a player base on Steam.

Thank you all for your support!

Cheers

Congrats, what an achievement! Well deserved too after a great game in Acting Lessons and now Being a DIK. High quality stuff! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the stories unfold.

CaseyJones

Your talent for storytelling is amazing - every good thing that comes your way is well deserved!

Cha-ching! Purchased. Congrats on the launch Doc, fingers crossed it all goes well. Love your work.

Julian Harper

Congrats, but has it really been 1.5 years already?!?

Mirrifer69

Happy Days! I loved acting lessons, and I can't wait to become a DIK

I guess it´s not releasing in Germany ? Is that because of some guidlines from the german Steam ?

Vitreous Humour

Quick question, is there any difference between what is being released on steam and what was released to Patrons? Trying to figure out if I should play it through again or just purchase for support purposes. Thanks!

Bruce

so were all the winners for steam codes sent out or is that this sunday. my avatar is from a painting my mother did of trump lol.

DrPinkCake

Yeah, it's insane. I started developing it in September 2018.

DrPinkCake

It is indeed released in Germany. Germany has the second most supporters both on Patreon and Steam. If you can't see it, please check your settings for allowing adult content on Steam.

DrPinkCake

Right now, yes. Only because the Patreon version isn't patched yet. But the differences are bug fixes, with the exception of 2 animations that were added but not included in the script for Episode 4. If you are a fan of Quinn, it can be worth playing Episode 4 again on Steam. I will however patch the Patreon version soon enough, I just want to make sure I sort most of the bugs that are found first.

DrPinkCake

Yes, all winners have been contacted in DMs and received their Steam keys. There will be more lotteries in the future.

How do you open the official guide? It keeps taking me to the steam purchase page when it says I already have it installed.

Wonderful to hear that Being a DIK has a long lifespan ahead of it - it's definitely a very rich world to explore, with lots of potential content!

Jason Stollery

Congrats on the release!! You deserve every ounce of success. When I finished Acting Lessons, I thought about it for days. THat's powerful storytelling. And when I finished Season 1 of Being a DIK, I felt empty like I'd just finished binging a TV show. Stay amazing!

How many seasons do you have set in your mind right now?

DrPinkCake

Press the "g" button while playing the game.

ANIHIL8TER

Assuming the game took 1.5 years to be worked on and released I would assume it would take an equal amount of time or less depending on the seasons to come and I cant wait!!!

ANIHIL8TER

It took a while for 4 seasons to come out one can only hope the seasons come out faster XD

Is there a reason why this isn't being released for macOS on Steam despite the game having a Mac version here in Patreon?

DrPinkCake

Yes. Steam requires my game to be notarized, a process that I can't do since I don't develop on macOS systems. I cross-compile my games. Because of that, Steam won't accept my macOS build, but Patreon doesn't discriminate against it. I'm looking into alternative sites for macOS distribution, but currently Patreon is the only place for it.
