Status update Episode 5 (Patreon)

Beta testing is on-going.

A release date will be posted when I know more about the workload needed to fix bugs etc.

If you haven't prepared for patching your game, I strongly advise you to do it soon, to make release day easier for you.

Download the full game here if you need it.

Please note, modified game versions or even extracted ones won't work with patching. You will get errors when playing the game if there's anything in the folders that's not supposed to be there.

You can fix it by downloading a clean release before patching or by downloading the full game on release.

You can keep saves, as long as they are from the Patreon version.

If I only have Season 1 on Steam, how can I get Episode 5? (sorry for not knowing, I'm new here, playing your brilliant work on steam bring me here)

Sweet! Looking forward to the release. Hopefully it won't take long to fix whatever bugs pop up. This week it would have been the ideal distraction to what I may face next week at work, but it is what it is. Just a little longer and hopefully some of the questions I've been having will be answered. If it answers at least one, then that would be awesome. But I'm really looking forward to it regardless!

Hi, check my tiers and decide what level you want to be at. To get Episode 5 on release day, $25, three days after release $10 and 2 weeks after release $5 (this requires you to already have the base patreon version in the $10 tier).

Hi DrPinkCake! Thank you for your reply! But the save games on Steam version aren't compatible with this patreon version right? I need to upgrade my tier, get the patreon version of seanson 1, play it (with pleasure), and then wait for episode 5 to drop?

That's one way to do it, yes. You can download and play Ep1-4 now and continue on your saves when Ep5 drops. Or wait and play Ep1-5 all at once. Your choice.

No, Steam gets full seasons. It will be a while before Steam gets a product update.

Hi, what did you mean with "... clean release before patching ..." ? I've downloaded V0.4.2 on 1. March 2020 and played the Game. Btw can't wait for it!

Didn't you mention earlier that Season 2 will get standalone executable? If it's true why do we need previous clean version?

What do you mean standalone executable? It is one big game. The "seasons" are just milestones in the development.

......or do you mean the patch thing for episode 5? I imagine you just get the additional data for the episode as a patch, nothing else. You cannot play episode 5 on its own.

Nah, I just remember that there was a wall of text after episode 4 where DPC said that season 2 will come with new binary which means new folder with an executable. But there is no such text in 0.4.2. I guess it was in 0.4.0 version and things changed after that

He'll have an upgrade patch - he's just stating that you need to have a clean, unmodified existing installation before attempting to install the 0.5 patch when it releases. If you have tweaked any files in your installation for mods, hacks, etc. it's recommended to do a clean installation before attempting the patch when it releases.

You should be fine then as long as you haven't modified any files from the installation (unlikely that you have). When the patch releases, you'll download it, follow the instructions he'll have in the package and be good to go. :)

I made a public post about this a while back. It would be harder to maintain a game that way since Steam is handled differently. Steam is handled like the patching I will do for Patreon. It makes it easier to do versioning this way and it's even faster for players to download only patches than entire games every update.

If you just played the game, doing nothing to the files intentionally, you're fine.

I found a possible bug, in Episode 4, the shower scene with Jill, I have 6 CHICK rating but the scene won’t unlock. I’m pretty sure I’ve hit the other markers

I believe you need CHICK AFFINITY for that. Check your affinity rating.
