Being a DIK: Episodes 1-7 (v0.7.1), including bug fixes for reported bugs, is now live.

Changelog v0.7.1

Fixed a bug with the Bios app, where you would get multiple entries if you rolled back to change your mind during some choices.

Fixed an issue where you got stuck in the final freeroam of episode 7 if you dismissed Riona too fast in her chat.

Fixed a dialogue bug in episode 6 with Josy and Maya.

Fixed a bug with a patched animation in episode 6 during the scene with Envy and Sandy.

Fixed a bug with a missing image for Jade's phone chat in episode 7.

Fixed a bug where calling people using the old phone wouldn't bring back the quick menu until you opened and closed the phone again.

Fixed four missing renders during the tennis match.

Corrected typos in episode 7

i'm getting an unexpected error with trying to add the .1 patch. ep7_images.rpa file cannot be copied.

Which file did you download? The pc-lin patch?

Ok, I will reupload/compile another version as I think there's a checksum error. I think it is playable without any issue, but when the new version is uploaded, download it again.

Your hard work really shows in this patch. Nice work. My two cents, the navigation around rooms in house is still confusing and frustrating even with the quick travel. If there is standard like up arrow at top to enter a room then down arrow at botton to get back to the original room would help a lot too. also a minmap may help, just throwing ideas

Thanks for the feedback. The minimap was added to ease with navigation and perhaps there are still some QoL improvements left in this area. I'll ponder if it can be improved somehow in the future.

I know the minimap isn't necessarily going to have every single room, but I did spend a pretty significant amount of time searching a room for something that wasn't there because I didn't realize there was a second room of that type available... felt like an idiot once I found it.

Think i am going to replay this in Dik mode 1st time was Chik because well Josy, Maya, Jill and Bella. And in Dik mode you get the sexy milf Jade.

Is it ok that after patching 0.6.1->0.7.0 all cellphone wallpaperes disapeared?

Which wallpapers are you referring to? The ones you unlocked for the phone in episodes 1-6?

Yes, the new phone has new wallpapers. That's why the old ones don't show.

The Exception

Thanks for your work!) I also have some problems with loading saves from previous episodes: it throws me somewhere near the actual moment I saved, so I need to repeat a few actions to reach that point, or it just crashes with "An exception has occured" whatever this is.

Hi! Yes, this can happen between updates. The only screen that's guaranteed to work is the ending screen which tells you to save your game. If other saves work, it's a gamble. You can try to reload your save in the previous version, play the game a bit and save again. That might put it back into gear with the new version. That's the only fix for this problem.

Got it, thank you. Well, I don't think that would be a big deal, since there's no such reality where I won't play this game from the start again) Probably repeatedly) Oh, and yeah: would it be better for me to install that patch if I don't have any bugs in 0.7.0?

The patch takes care of a few important bugs, so I would recommend it.

I found the whiskey by chance, and after i played Chik mode 1st and then Dik mode being way funnier, i will continue Chik mode in episode 8.

Edit: This was fixed with patch 0.7.2 I'm getting the same exception reported earlier during the DIK mansion freeroam. I deleted the contents of the cache folder but it made no difference. Here's the exception: Compiling ATL code at game/season2/scripts/new_phone/apps/pack_quest_app/mphone_pack_quest_img.rpy:10 File "game/season2/scripts/freeroam/episode7/ep7_freeroam_diks_big.rpy", line 149, in Exception: Creating subsurface failed. child size = (500.0, 680.0), crop = (0, 0, 468, 829) I have a save file at that point in time if needed although I am not on Discord.

Sounds like there was a problem with patching. If you're using MEGA extension for downloading, there could be a bug with this. Can you try downloading again, maybe from another host?

I used Mediafire because GOFILE was going to take over an hour and I'd prefer not to sign up for MEGA. I'll try D/Ling the patch from GOFILE now since I am heading to bed shortly. Thanks.

Update: I downloaded the patch from GOFILE and patched it again. Windoze is asking me if I want to replace all of the files so I know it's overwriting the previous files, but it makes no difference. The issue is in Rooster. When I open the app then move my cursor over the play button in the video, I get the exception every time. It's fine as long as I don't do that.
