I'm continuing work on a free-roam event, and I've carried out most of the needed environmental design this week. All ~30 characters used in the free-roam are prepared and I'm in the process of making static renders and animations.

I've posed a cutscene-like animation and worked my way through a long scene, and right now, I'm working on art and code for the final mini-game to be added in episode 10.

I probably have ~500-1000 renders and two lewd scenes left before I can move on from this free-roam event - which is the big one in episode 10. I will likely be working on it for a couple of more weeks.

Here are some updated numbers for the episode:

Posed static renders: 3002 (60%)

Posed animations: 196 (65%)

Percentages are based on the Episode 9 count. As always, take the percentages with a grain of salt. My gut feeling says there's a lot left to do, especially in main girl branches, but it's coming along smoothly and animations render faster than before, thanks to the PC upgrades.

Have a nice weekend

Thanks Doc, these updates are great. Keep them coming and keep at it. Your game is very special and you've made a big impact. Stay focused and stay proud of the work you're doing. These updates help a lot with the wait which I'm sure will be well worth it.

The Original Jdog

Just wanted to drop a note of thanks for these. They make a great bookend for the week wondering on Thursday if tomorrow's update will be the one where the doc starts listing the "final to-do" or teasing release dates

The new upgrades certainly have forced me to change my approach in order to keep a 100% uptime. I have to think more about animations even when I feel like working on static renders. It gives me a kick in the ass to make lewd scenes instead of normal scenes at the moment. And even after I've done so, the render queue feels smaller than it "should" be. It's a luxury to have this stress, and I can render static renders faster than usual too, by giving those files to slave PCs as well. In the past I had one dedicated rig for static renders, but now I can use several if I want to. Having static renders done fast is good because it allows me to test portions of the game faster, so it's an added benefit to the upgrade as well. The downside is that I have to work more on PC maintenance and keeping all slaves in sync with files is a chore. There can be no mismatch between the files across the systems, or render could come to a halt due to missing files.

I've never been so hyped for any game in past, can't wait to see how the story will resolve. This game will be remebered as a classic that broke the glass celling - i'm pretty sure that Being a DIK will grow waaaay beyond smal AVN audience - and i'm not even into avn's or adult games at all - i've just heard this game is really good. My game of the year no doubt - story wise probably all time favourite, for now at least :)

Adapting to new hardware is both exciting and nerve-wracking. I completely understand the impulse to want to stay ahead, or at least on point, with your machines. I take comfort in my own endeavors knowing that when there's a crunch, the power is there if I need it, but it doesn't need to dictate focus. You seem highly organized and focused at this point in your career as a developer, don't let Isabella stress you out too much, she'll be there when you need her.

Couldn't have said it better meself

Being a DIK is the greatest AVN ever! The work you are doing is magic, and I honestly believe that the taboos behind AVNs may fall due to your creativity and talent. I get excited with each update, because I know that each one brings us closer to the next episode.
