NCT DREAM/WISH/127, Red Velvet, Aespa, WAYV

I think some of the picks and arrangements were a little uninspired but I will always enjoy seeing juniors cover their seniors songs!

SNSD ATE with the cover, my God Taeyeon's voice is a wonder and it was great seeing Sooyoung and Hyoyeon sing more too! Shame about the song but i'll get used to it i'm sure.

Enjoy!

im pretty sure in the last vid they did a tribute to sulli :(

pup_ji43

The toxic relationship we hv with SM 😂

Lea Dan

Same I was like gurlllllll since when seulgi could do that, i hate sm so much but shit their artist/idol are so good and talented

Koko3op

DM's are the way to go as stated in the pinned post and no I will not be purchasing it as I'm planning to see her in person.

Koko3op

Like WTF?!?! I hope her solo showcases some more of that!!

Hibz

lmao fuck sm fr but also fuck, sm getting me in my feels. I love that snsd remake song but then again i love me some snsd power ballads. The original singers are just as good. Tbh i didnt care for any of these covers lol and why didnt shinee get one ?!!

Tim Nguyen

For RV, do you think that's the gift/curse of having Wendy in the same group as you? Producers just give her the tough parts all the time? And it seems like the members defer to her a lot as well Taeyeon is she. That's it Also, the talent that SM has in their girl groups is nuts. Too bad SM is bad at utilizing then to their full potential

Ariana Thompson

SM is the toxic relationship I promised I would never be in but here we are 11 years late for me. Lee Sooman left and definitely took some recipes with him and these SMTOWNS are a clear example of it but the talent is undeniable. Dream, WayV, and RV were my stand outs and I don’t know what was in Taeyeons iced coffee last year but my girl was singing you hear me. She’s insane and tour ready. Darn this pink blood that run through my veins or whatever. Thank you for the reaction!

Koko3op

YES where was Shinee??? lool

Koko3op

Yess that's absolutely the issue!! It's a shame

Lee

I just love SNSD so much. No one like them.

Koko3op

RIGHT?? Taeyeon is something else man!!

ayo_gg

omg the toxic relationship we all have with sm is so real 😭 and my girl my king taeyeon really came here to SING also as much as I LOVED snsd’s cover, I sooo wish they covered an aespa song because they’d EAT that DOWN. like I get the whole sm anniversary thing so it’s nice they even mention the grace existed but man I would’ve killed to see them cover aespa. like imagine them with savage? drama? even Armageddon would eat! the list goes on~~~

Koko3op

I guess besides BoA it had to be juniors covering seniors'? And I don't think it would suit right them doing an aespa song since they're not on the emotional side for the most part!

ayo_gg

yeah thats so true, especially the emotional side part. Like seeing boa cover Jonghyun was just… so much for me and can’t imagine what it was like for her especially for someone personally knowing him. I defo understand the whole juniors covering seniors thing but then we had tvxq covering red velvet? so random lol, mainly why I thought this could work but it’s sm so def shouldn’t look deep into this loool

fdgd fd

Is it just me or the mixing on Girls' Generation's new track sounds off? It feels way too chaotic - wouldn't have made it through a second listen if it weren't for Taeyeon.

Koko3op

It sounded real muffled to me, i just assumed it was a youtube thing. Will see how it sounds on spotify

Alex Blvck

I understand why Wendy gets to belt in the songs because…well she’s Wendy. But after THAT performance, I need them to slide some of those parts to Seulgi because she absolutely DEVOURED! I had no idea she could do it like THAT

Alice

The song SNSD covered is by CSJH. May be you can check them out. All members are vocalists, a lot of belting and harmony. They're so called TVXQ female version.

lucas

JUST SAW AESPA IN CHICAGO!!! i get what you're saying it def seems like karina has lost that sparkle in her eyes a bit, but my god has winter picked up a lot of steam she had that entire arena going feral!!!

Koko3op

No way!! I'm glad it's not just me. Winter really is the star now!

hope

OMG TAEYEON NO I HAD TO PAUSE TO COMMENT SIS IS SANNGINGGGGGG - I WANT TO SEE A LIVE VERSION SM PLS

Koko3op

She did not hold back AT TALLLL!!

Jonathan

24:40 I BEEN THINKING THIS FOR SOME TIME... like i saw them live in NJ recently and she seemed somewhat genuinely happy to be touring (maybe bc it's outside of korea/less restrictions/less scrutiny). in recent times, the moments where I see she seems genuinely happy is during lives with her members. when I look at footage of her before vs after, it's kinda sad to see how she's also trying to make up for it but is fully unable to let her guard down completely. i remember giselle spoke about this in a podcast interview, but she lost motivation when things got bad for them/the endless hate and how she had to refind her joy in this career and i think this is happening now with karina. (13:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miiWSm3lHu8) i hope in the future she will be able to freely express herself. the whole situation reminded me of how taeyeon lost her spark for some time after she was exposed for dating but now she's fine so i can only hope that the same will happen for karina

Alyssa

Have you heard FLO is producing the title track for SM's new gg!

Koko3op

Yup! Spoke about it on discord at length and posted it on my Koko3op insta stories!

Koko3op

Ohhhh wow!! I didn’t know Giselle spoke about that but yes it seems so similar. I hope she does find that spark again soon

maesaur

I honestly think the best SMTOWN cover stage was the TVXQ version of Red Velvet's Psycho, that was fire
