Much like me wanting Taeyeon to leave those damn rock sounds alone loool, I want Kai to leave the latin/reggaeton vibes alone.

It doesn't sound bad at all but musically it just doesn't go ANYWHERE?!?!?! With R&B he is in his ELEMENT and does so much in the songs even when they're laidback but with these songs? Idk it doesn't tickle my kitty.

Overall it's a laidback way to ease himself back into the industry i guess.

LUUURRRVEEEE! Was just thinking about your reactions to this album while listening to it earlier today. Love Kai to death but I felt like this album was a bit… safe? Love WDT, bits of Ridin’. It’s definitely good, but yeah, it doesn’t go anywhere. Title track slaps though, and his visuals? Please, someone in the styling department… don’t ever EVER take away that ash blonde honey blonde whatever blonde hair he had in Walls Don’t Talk + blushy, pouty makeup he had on oh lord!!! Ty for this reaction <3

I screamed at the ”Touch him!” Cuz i was feeling the same😂😂😂 i love the title track and adult swim is fun but the rest of the album was not for me this time but gotta love Kai for doing something different for himself but i need a Come in part 2 or a another Domino where he uses his deep voice

i completely agree with your take on this album! personally, i like it and some of the songs will go in my chill plalyist, but r&b kai is just MWAH chefs kiss ... every day i pray for something like amnesia / ride or die again

Totally agree with you, this feels very rushed. I didn't even bother finishing the album bc i was BORED!!! It made me sad bc a couple weeks ago Amnesia from his first mini album came on shuffle and I've been obsessed. Hope the next album feels more sincere and FINISHED not like this one.

I say this as being Kai biased , but Adult Swim took me a couple of listens, and I think it was your reaction that REALLY had me listen to it because yes, the VOCALS have matured and relaxed. It grew on me. Wait On Me and Walls Don't Talk are my faves. The funny thing about R&B Kai is that this mini doesn't reflect the music he's listening to. So I'm wondering how much of this is him choosing the music vs SM influencing his direction. Overall, production-wise, I thought the songs were done well. It was cohesive in that the songs flowed well together. I feel like he's still working on himself artistically and trying to find a sound that's not repetitive but becomes distinctly his own. Personally, I'd love to hear him pull more from the 90s pop r&b era. R&B is his bag and maybe that's why he's trying different genres while trying to keep up with trends so he's not falling behind. We need old SM back in the studio.

I remember him saying in an interview somewhere that he relied on various opinions for this comeback. I'm guessing he had to lean on his team more this round given the quick turnaround. I enjoyed wait on me and walls don't talk the most. But yes, would like to return to more rnb sounds. Agree that his vocals sound really good this time round as well.

While I’m so happy that Kai is active again, I’m not so eager to listen to this album again. His songs from peaches & mmmh album are better for my taste. Especially Blue! Ahh I want a heartfelt song like that again, not all dance/experimental songs pls KIM KAI. But I’m still happy with his comeback & the title track. Just the overall album listening is not that entertaining for me🤷🏻‍♀️
