DOUBLE WHAMMY BABY!!

I can't stop thinking about Heeseung after this episode. He really won me over, like he's actually such a softie and seeing this side to him is quite endearing.

Jungwon was also shining from sooo early on, he really has a special place in my heart.

Once ep 2 got going I WAS LOCKED TF IN! Soo entertaining and you know what Sunwoo is great comic relief loooool.

Looking forward to carrying on with this journey, I'm having so much fun.

Enjoy!

WE’RE EATING GOOOOODDDD!!!!!

serena 🎧

YUPPPPPP this is my show for tonight !!

Yanna E

Omg I remember being so frustrated with the whole Heeseung situation like be fr. I felt bad for him.

mia

WHATTTT I put my phone down to charge and I pick it up and see this gosh I cant wait to come home and watch this

nana

i remember going through it with how the heeseung situation went down and jay trying to audition for a part felt like a humiliation ritual 😭

Koko3op

ifvdhfsohodfhoiush it really did

Sana

I can never get tired of this survival show, it’s so dramatic haha

Candice Blair

Even though Taki knew, Ni-ki got so much hate for voting for Taki. Unlike the EJ and Daniel situation, where Daniel knew nothing. At this point, Ni-ki is not liked, and though Taki seems like he's the youngest, he's older than Ni-ki and Daniel. lol

Betty

This is my favourite survival show, so glad you’re enjoying

Sawsane

the way I CACKLED when u called them out for not putting up with heeseung's way of "teaching"/leading them HAHHAH. But seriously, what bothered me during these episodes, was how they were always giving the role of "leader" to the same person that had the 1st part but it really isn't the best of ideas. Those 2 roles should be distinct imo

tas4yaongz

The way they gang up on Heeseung in episode 2 annoys me so much b/c they could've handled that so much better, but I give them a little pass because of their age and the fact that they were doing this with very little outside guidance. And Jay! My heart breaks everytime I see him auditioning for the signal song. He was having a bad day and couldn't show his true potential. But seeing him now and his growth since then gives me so much satisfaction. Ni-ki! sigh* he was only 14 and so freaking talented already. Jungwon -amazing from the start, Sunghoon so solid, Sunoo - our sunshine :), and Jake - a true icon of growth. I-LAND put them all through it for real. Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the episodes especially since you're someone who knows Enhypen well. This show is traumatizing in a way but it's honestly what made me latch so hard on to the members. Get ready for the bumpy ride. :D

BZ

It is so fun watching this again with you. I agree with your assessment of Heeseung. He has a pure heart and you will see that really caring side of him throughout the episodes. He really comes off as a lovely person. Jungwon is such a cutie in I-Land, and is such a hard worker. Jungwon also comes across as a very caring person in I-Land. I always thought that Jay would not have been sent to the ground, if only he had not tried to get that part 2, where his voice cracked. He sounded great when trying out for the other parts, and I think he would have been selected for one of them, if he hadn’t tried part 2. Anyway, I can’t wait to watch more episodes with you. By the way, you will hear more of Geonu’s great voice in the next episode

Shay

oh we are so locked in I just finished the reaction and I already cant wait for the next one lol. I almost forgot how messy this whole show is, like why r they so against heeseung in ep 2 my boy is literally just doing what needed to be done? idc even rewatching it I'm still on his side. Also there's so much evil/dramatic editing in this show its crazyyyy especially towards K. but on a good note I was so happy to see K and Takis amazing friendship again and trust me you continue to see more of it. And when it comes to the producers/ judges or whatever you wanna call them, I feel like Rain is really the only one who ACTUALLY helps them?? The others most of the time just go "oh hey you're doing smth wrong but I'm not gonna show you how to do it right so good luck!". Anyways I don't wanna risk spoiling anything so I'll leave it here, thank you for the reaction!

Koko3op

It's soooo fun! Yeah they did Heeseung dirty fr but his star quality could not be denied!

Koko3op

Yess Rain was the perfect mentor, I forgot to mention that! Direct but very caring and empathetic !

BZ

Turns out that K, Taki and Ni-ki knew each other before I-Land and had practiced together for awhile. However, they were told not to disclose that on the show

Amelia

The signal song "Into the I-Land" I'm pretty sure is the name is on spotify under I-Land and IU has a version as she was chosen to sing it before the show came out or something like that.

lilac_pelican

honestly i feel like i have a slightly different take on the 'heeseung situation' to most people lol. when i first watched it, i agreed with most people that they did him pretty dirty with the way they handled it, but once i finished the episode my perspective shifted a little bit. when they recommended/voted for him to be part 1, they weren't technically voting for him to be a leader, he just kind of fell into that roll. the complaints that they had about him altering the choreography were very fair in my opinion and they did try to talk to him about it once they noticed that it was different. when heeseung explained the alteration they dropped it (to his face) before talking about it behind his back, when they should have just continued the conversation with him. from heeseung's perspective evaluating them was a good way to ensure that everyone was improving individually and that their mistakes weren't just blending in with the group. but from youngbin's perspective he had 11 of his peers/teammates with more experience than him, staring at him, judging every flaw of his, and then pointing out all of those flaws in front of the entire group, on television. youngbin had only been a trainee for 4 months and isn't used to evaluations yet. i still think that the evaluations were a good idea and provided them with useful feedback, but i can see and empathise with youngbin's perspective. as for the group confrontation, we're missing A LOT of context. all of the conversations that we saw leading up to it were them saying that four people (that heeseung seemed relatively close with) would talk to him about staying true to the original choreography and the fact that some people are struggling with his style of leadership. then all of a sudden it cuts to all of them being present for the conversation (this feels a bit off to me). but even then, i still think it's a matter of perspective. from heeseung's perspective, they're all ganging up on him and not acknowledging or appreciating the fact that he has taken on a lot of responsibility so that he can help them. from their perspective, several little conversations have been taking place without heeseung, and so they just want to have one big conversation with him, so that they can all move on and come together as a team. so, the intentions were good but the result was poor because they were all so focused on their own grievances that they failed to consider heeseung's motivations and perspective. another factor to consider is that they all knew about heeseung prior to the show. he trained closely with txt and when the show was airing, practically everyone was saying that it was a competition to see who heeseung's members would be, for them and pretty much everyone watching, they knew his debut was practically guaranteed. because of this, they may have overestimated his ability to take that conversation in stride without being hurt by it. they should have just had several little conversations with heeseung over time, instead of unloading everything onto him at once. plus, i think heeseung should have kept part 1 because he was clearly the best suited for it, they should have just decided on new leadership and kept the parts the same (he was the one who wanted to give it up, but i think it was pretty clear that he just wanted to give up the 'leader' aspect of it). i also think it's interesting that after rain's evaluation/practice they did the same thing to niki (the whole group talking/criticising him), but no one really notices because niki got a less favourable/sympathetic edit. overall, they're kids who have been given an opportunity to change their lives forever, and the threat of that being taken away from them is constantly hanging over them. there is a reason why all of the enhypen members say i-land was hell lmao. but who knows, maybe i just have extra empathy because i'm the same age as some of them were during the show. sorry for the insanely long comment haha, it's just so nice to see a reaction with fair but honest judgement and zero tolerance for evil editing lmao.

Koko3op

Haha well thank you for using paragraphs and writing all this and I agree with everything you said. We definitely missed a lot of context there cos I was thrown off suddenly seeing them all sitting and talking to Heeseung like HUH?? LOOL It really is fascinating watching how everyone behaves under pressure for real!

Amelia

Yeah np. I love when survival shows do that. Same as when Boys Planet put Over Me on spotify but was weird and kinda annoying that they put them under weird artist names.

Kay

‏Ni-ki was only 14 when he joined I-LAND, and honestly, his journey was brutal. But he gave it everything he knew exactly what he wanted, and he fought hard for it. Even if some of his actions came off as selfish or cold, it was a competition. He was focused. I actually admire that kind of drive. I wish I had that mentality at his age and even now lol 😂

Kay

‏Watching Jake in I-LAND and now, I’m just amazed at the growth he has gone through like I could not imagine enhypen without him, i remember when the lineup was announced a lot of people criticized Jake debuting. But i believe that Jake had the amount of truth to himself. He was self-aware of his position. He knew that he lacked skills, but he tried hard. He didn’t sit around and just cry about the situation he acted on it. I think That mentality really helped him through his journey and on his way to debut, and ofc his potential.

Kay

Jay’s stubbornness and confidence is very inspiring . I was impressed by how he kept raising his hand even after being rejected. And also the way he took Rain’s criticism and turned it into personal growth like me i wouldve cried my ass off😂😂😂but jay listened, adapted, and came back stronger.

AlliePandaa

Youngbins immaturity and fragile ego was such a red flag. Who da fck cares if you cried when asked to perform solo. This is the industry you’re trying to get into. You can’t perform in front of your peers? Then there’s no future for you to perform in front of an audience and THANK GOD he’s blacklisted from the industry now. It’s still so mind boggling to me that this I-land Youngbin is protrayed like a soft sensitive boy but in real life he’s choking out his girlfriend til she passes out. Piece of shit. I am 100% w/ Heesung for everyone to go one by one so you can get better feedback and actually improve. LOL I haven’t watched this since I aired so seeing youngbins face again triggered sooo many things inside me.

Shay

Wait I actually think that I heard that before and it makes total sense. It would explain why they are already so close in the show!

Koko3op

The heart of the group !!

Koko3op

HAHA I get it!! And true his fragile ego is definitely a red flag!

Aya

icb im willingly reliving this traumatic show again but i will do it cause i wanna hear your input 🥲 really youngbin pisses me OFF so bad this time around. man there’s a reason why heeseung is in coachella and you’re on a literal criminal watchlist!! that is all lol

nana

i always thought it was so weird how he got so much hate for his behavior in iland but part did it actually and em like him more ahdkslakd😭 idk a lot of his frustrations felt valid when he was in ground and and going from 1st part to ground was a harsh fall for him so him being stricter on himself and others didn’t rlly come as a shock to me? (it also made me laugh sometimes lowkey bc he was s seconds from crashing out on everybody😭)

AlliePandaa

Hahah no, Niki definitely crashed out. LOLOL but it was so real and relatable. He got hate for it but you don’t see many 14 year olds out here fighting for their dreams as hard as he did on live television. It was impressive and admirable

Kay

Literally i was crashing out about more stupid things as a teen ….. so i could not imagine how it felt for ni-ki poor baby

K Dior

I appreciate I-land cause it introduced me to my 1 and only bias K ,but at the same time I get ptsd seeing this show . That man cannot escape the non sense people say about him still to this day . 💀

Revya

Hi all - I can't seem to find episode 1? I've tried searching in the search bar and clicking the I-LAND' tag' Does someone please have a link? Sorry if it's obvious and I'm missing it! Just want to watch the reactions from the beginning :) Thank you

Koko3op

It should come up if you search I-LAND

Gyatt100

Any reason why this one is titan and the new one isnt? no hate just curious

Koko3op

Oh it shouldn't be titan lol. I dunno why I did that

Nina Sera
