PSA- DO NOT use how I feel to invalidate other black people who feel how they feel. Thanks :)Note: Teddy Park did NOT actually produce "Batter Up" that was my mistake however him having a similar sonic formula for Meovv says a lot.In this episode, I'm briefly unpacking the backlash and obsession surrounding TARZZAN, ALLDAYPROJECT, and expanding on my feelings regarding YG Entertainment Teddy and The Black Label. Why do fans react the way they do?  What’s behind the hate — and what are our TRUE intentions behind the dragging? Most of my takes may be unpopular opinions but that's how I feel which doesn't take away from how you should feel!

Would appreciate more comments on the podcast pages too if you're able!

I don’t hate Tarzzan but I did roll my eyes when I saw those braids. Either way kpop needs more coed groups.

Great episode! i absolutely agree with all your points. Tarzzan really put me off adp at first but ive been slowly getting into them and i just love their dynamic! We really needed a good coed group and with how much success they’re getting i can only hope they keep delivering musically. Although i dont wanna have much expectations for teddy ajdjsjsj Tbh i love them they’re my current guilty pleasure and if i close my eyes when tarzzan acts/looks stupid it’s manageable lmao

I don't follow ADP but as someone who follows a group who has been racially ignorant/insensitive *cough blackpink* sorry I love them, but also doesn't have the energy as a black person to care I agree with some of your points. Especially the one about the internet warriors. For them this is peak activism and advocacy. The reason they go so hard is because it's all they do. They'll never go outside and do something that will make actual impact. Do they donate to causes? Participate in protests? they never actually put their money where their mouth is, they just run it on the internet. This doesn't apply to everyone obviously there are people who stand on business and as they should, I have nothing against them but I'm sorry there are just some things they can't make me care about. I love your honesty and unhinged-ness because you're right. People can be angry that you don't care about tarzan wearing braids and come at you for it and then 2 months from now their fav could have done something heinous. All this is to say we literally don't know these people likeeee this is literally just music. I'd also rather take what I see than be angry later down the line. Could blackpink do something in the future that would turn me away for good? probably lol but for now we can enjoy what we enjoy especially with everything going on in the world right now there are much bigger things to worry about.

I think Tarzzan has seen that people didn't like his braids because now he doesn't wear them anymore. His hair from today's fansign looked great, he should have those types of braids instead. andhe had manbun a few days ago wich looked good too

OH YOU FUCKING ATE THAT!! For them it really is peak activism omg!!!! That's the thing i couldn't find words for. Can you copy this comment in the spotify comments please?! love it

I have been a Kpop fan for a while and I kind of cam into Kpop via YG, I watched a YGFAMILY concert lol. I'm also non black so I try to stay out of this discourse but I think it honestly feels so disingenuous and attention seeking from them. Everyone over there has been called out 1000 times for this its something they're incredibly educated on. They like to stir up controversy I think because what other reason would you have for doing something so avoidable. The braids are a concept it's not the hair he lives in so what is the need to tread that line. I think its so attention seeking it put me off even more.

I actually like these podcasts so I can listen while I’m driving!! Ohh Tarzan. When I heard his stage name I was already thinking this guy can’t take life seriously. When I SAW Tarzan & how he looked like at debut, I was shocked cus I actually researched him years ago cus he starred in G-ildes music video for I Do. I thought he was so cute! Here’s a link for g-idles - I Do If you haven’t watched it to see chaewon before he became Tarzan. https://youtu.be/pCh3Kp6qxo8?si=g92IPmFparT5ySa2 But anyways, I was initially turned off about his whole persona but after watching a random vlog all day project dropped, I was like this guy just seems so goofy and carefree. Like he’s actually really likable if you can look past wtv is happening on his outer appearance. I do hope he can tone it down and find his own style that isn’t too over the top still though. Lol Of course it’s not my place to comment on cultural appropriation or not but I know it’s a thin line between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. I hope he leans more towards the latter.

Yess goofy, carefree and i'll even add misguided and genuinely ignorant and hoepfully he realises what he needs to do to get a better standing!
