The end is nigh!

I need a new i-land, yesterday, for a co-ed group. Dunno how it would work but hey!

Jeemin once again shining in that center position, there's no holding her back now. The pleasant surprise here was Mai! I was shocked by how strong her vocals could be?

Watching it knowing Jiyoon is gone just doesn't hit the same. If only they could bring one of these girls back to make the line up 7 again. Fuko also really shined here, I'm so looking forward to her debut!

Enjoy!

JUNGEUN LATATA LIVES RENT FREE IN MY MINDDDDDD THAT DANCE BREAKKKKKKK😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Rewatching this is reminding me of how she initially auditioned as a main dancer (I don’t even remember how I found this out) and became more of a main vocal candidate and anytime she performs all out like this I get reminded of it and love her even more cause she really gives her all in everything since the show all the way up till now

Abi

Latata was seriously so good like distributions and how they all executed it. I only feel bad for juwon cause you can tell she was a bit reserved from probably over thinking the high note and how it sounded to her but she sounded good I wish she didn’t overthink it😔 she still ate though

Into the new world team were def being greedy (understandable) but I think it was most valid in gyuri’s case the way she’s frequently gotten leftover parts sans being centre in ooh ah. Everyone else on that team normally plays a decent big part so I can understand why she felt now was her time to fight for more lines than the others. but her saying she wasn’t satisfied before the redistributed the lines makes me laugh still cause girl bffr you had plenty! But again her being the youngest in part 2 (she’s a year or months younger than saebi I can’t remember) isn’t obvious by how mature she is from what we’ve seen. Like her apologising to jeemin again separately and then every performance until now her not making too much of a fuss - I would’ve never let them take eyes nose lips from me if I was her like I’d have sung again the way minsol did!

LOOOL she had so many!! Yeahh her apologising to Jeemin was adorable.

This episode brought up one of the most debated topics among Kpop fans nowadays - line distribution, where team balance and individual's spotlight directly go head to head. Personally, I always value team balance more, and whatever making the performance shine the most will work for me. It also relates to another point you made in the beginning of the episode, which is Koko's members are stronger than Jee-min's. In general, when all the members have a solid skillset, it is easier to distribute parts. In reality, it tends to make it harder for fans to be satisfied with the distribution, since they all think that their faves should shine more.

I hated how they did eliminations throughout the show like why bother eliminating only 2 people in the finals after 3 fucking rounds just keep everyone or eliminate more it felt so redundant. Yes this is mainly cause I think juwon should’ve gotten to the finals but also because how each round was done several girls kept getting the short end of the stick. Wish I could redesign how they set up each episode cause the eliminations early on rubbed me the wrong way too. Hell with only 24 people I wouldn’t have bothered with a part 2 and would’ve just done eliminations every week or every other week or just eliminate people if they’re never doing well.

Fun fact: the dance break was all choreographed by Jung-eun and Koko.

Abi

@Tien Omg I never knew that and I’ve watched the show several times that’s so cool! Wish we could get to see more of their creativity now but I guess as time goes on and they get more freedom and responsibility with their work we might just get to

I-LAND format is just right up my alley, saving you so much time and unnecessary emotion compared with series like Produce or Planet. At the moment, Boys 2 Planet is down to 24 contestants, which I find amusing because it's the same starting number for I-LAND. They could have done that from the beginning to avoid most of the mess lol. If you want to watch a survival show with relatively small amount of contestants, I would recommend Kpop Star series (6 seasons in total). I don't know if you have watched it, but the show was quite old. It actually propelled the career of a lot Kpop idols and Korean musicians, including NMIXX Lily and ITZY Chaeryeong. You won't see a lot of dancing because the main focus is on singing, but the performances are all unique and creative. The format is closer to that of X Factor, but still I think it's gonna be a fun experience. I bet a lot of your subscribers haven't checked out the series yet.

I always believe that Mai's vocal has a lot of potential. Her nasality actually sounds beautiful at times and I think when she fully has control of it, she will sound much much more amazing. I can't tell if she really wants to pursue singing in the future or divert to other fields like dancing, rapping or fashion, but I truly hope she can train herself to be a better vocalist, not just singing more stably on stage. It's not gonna be easy for Mai to get more impactful parts in IZNA's discography since every single member works hard to improve themselves and also their schedule is currently really packed, but I trust her discipline and resilience to make a breakthrough in the future.

I might keep it in mind for sure but yes I-lands format is the best and true when you compare the numbers like that it's kinda crazy

It was shared on their episode with Bada Lee. Bada was particularly impressed by Jung-eun's dancing in Latata so it led to that revelation.

I have to say that it is very very hard. If it's truly health issue then what Ji-yoon is suffering from must be quite severe. It might take another 6 months or even 1 year at least for her to fully recover. Most of casual listeners and the fandom are likely to move on from her departure by then, not to mention her own fandom and OT6 might not want a reunion. The best scenario I can think of is that WakeOne put on a poll asking if people want her back or not, which is not something common in Kpop scene. If they just bring her back like nothing happened after a long time passing, many people won't be happy. The highest chance is that she's gonna redebut solo, or wait for 6 more years until her contract is ended, or WakeOne is generous enough to terminate their personal contract. But anyway, life is always unexpected, so it's absolutely fine to keep hoping for her comeback. I have been waiting for TVXQ's reunion for more than 10 years and still keep it up.

one think about saebi that she can stand out no matter in any way like just a little line and a dance break

J D

i fully believe this group needed sujung.

riri

something about female idols singing itnw always gets me 😢

MITNITE98

1:21:34 Those 6 months include the preparation for the show. Remember after being casted, 24 contestants were trained for several months under WakeOne.

MITNITE98

Exactly in what position will you put Su-jung if she's in the group?

Joe B

When I first watched this, the ITNW performance did nothing for me tbh, it was cute but forgettable, and I was obsessed with LATATA, but watching it now, I really love the ITNW performance too. It is really bittersweet watching Jiyoon here, like...where did it all go wrong?

J D

positions are arbitrary in modern kpop. many groups don't even list positions these days.

Koko3op

Hmm maybe! I think Yuju would've been a better fit

Jay R Castillo

I can’t lie all of these girls ate so hard but the slightest part of me can’t enjoy these performances to their fullest because of the recent Jiyoon news. It just makes me upset unfortunately.
