Yeahh that Chains performance is one for the books! Sangwon comes alive on stage in a way that reminds me of Taemin. Just ferocious!

As much as I love him though I feel like his personality as the no.1 is almost too introverted to be the main/center of a new group in a way Hanbin's energy was when he was no.1 throughout so if he stays no.1 I hope he starts to own more of his power because Hao was a surprise no.1 but he still delivered in confidence.

Hao from this season also shined! It just feels like he has no personality and i'm sure it's affecting his rating. He seems like such a recluse and we've not really seen him interact with any other trainees.

Yunseo deserves to debut! He really put his all for this episode. It will be interesting to see the final groups line up and how their chemistry will come together cos atm it's hard to see it meshing but if Leo makes it too I think he will be the leader in that sense.

Really enjoyable episode though!

I get what you mean from the Sangwon personality concerns but if you seen any trainee a stuff he is a very silly guy. Idk if you remember but Hanbin was getting “too perfect” and “too clean” accusations(?) on Bp1 and look how he actually is 🤣 (love him) Like I believe being out the game for a min just has him like this but once he is in the group and comfortable he will open up and show his true colors!!

I agree. Yunseo deserves to debut so bad, but obviously his rating is very low because of his age and viewers tend to lean towards more “mature” trainees. (Keep in mind bro is still going to school anddoing all of this to keep up.) I also agree about Hao this season, he doesn’t get much screen time with other trainees. I’ve only ever seen him interact with Anxin. Sangwon has very low confidence, maybe due to his trainee years but he needs to realize how much of a true performer he really is. The star quality is insane. He turns into a different person on stage I’m always gagged when I see him perform

Yes Hao is so good but learning what happened on that other show he was on I can see why he is kind of passive right now. I hope these benefits boost his confidence again!!

Way too many random thoughts as a huge Donggyu stan: I wish people would take into account the type of music the group will have when voting - like sorry y'all, Liyu is no damn Alpha. Junmin, Donggyu, Xinlong, Leo, etc. will fit the future concept the best. Donggyu can be the submissive Alpha for those a little scared and we still have Omega Sangwon so it won't all be the same. Personally, I am down for the Alpha concept - we need another Monsta X/2Pm grown men type-of-group with hopefully good music to pair. Donggyu is actually facing some heat rn too. It's a lot to explain and mostly stupid drama but basically his friend (who was also a choreographer for Main Dish funny enough and in the demo vids) posted a vid of himself (the friend - Donggyu didn't do anything) talking shit about Junseo for what happened during Bad, Junseo's subfandom (which is huge) basically bullied the friend into deleting it and apologizing, and ever since then, and the Bad mission as a whole, Junseo and Masato's subfandoms have been HATING Donggyu. Like, it's bad. All of the subfandoms hate each other lol but like the size difference is so noticeable. Casual viewers still generally like Donggyu but some are very annoyed because he got so much screentime this past episode. Junmin is also public enemy #1 by like everyone too because of how much screentime he's had on the show, genuinely like 80% of twitter hates him. I hope both Donggyu and Junmin succeed out of spite. Random thing: ever since Donggyu gained popularity, there's a huge ship on K-twitter of him and Geonwoo. Basically the ship's dynamic is introvert, calm boy (Donggyu) and mischievous extrovert hyung (Geonwoo). From behind videos it does seem like they're close and Geonwoo teases him a bit but I can see if they both debut their ship getting popular. Or a Donggyu and Junmin ship popping off, because there's something so endearing about two introverted, respectful and quiet people admiring each other. Had no idea Junmin was an introvert until last week and apparently he's actually super shy and a huge anime nerd who adopts animals. He's also insanely smart - he basically attended an ivy league high school for the top 2% of academics in the country and was studying to be a doctor before he became a trainee at Big Hit (Leo and Sangwon have known him for years, hence why Leo is so vocal about their friendship lol) Also, funny you mentioned TWS - Donggyu was almost in it. He was in Pledis, was best friends with Dohoon in high school (they actually had a dating rumor that the whole high school knew about), and he was close to making it in but got cut - hence why he's in IST. now.

My opinion about the conflict that happened in Main Dish is that Kagmin shouldn't have said that. From my point of view, Kagmin had also cried before due to lack of confidence but received support from the judges and his teammates (just like Junmin, who had support when he was down). So when the other one broke down from a lack of confidence (I know they are tense because they are almost in the final but) it seems that the judges, since he is Chinese or not one of the favorites, did not support him. On the contrary, they made comments that were somewhat out of line. Kangmin should show more support because he knows what it is like to break down, so I don’t understand why he acted that way; can he cry and the others cannot?The other one could tell he was having a panic or anxiety attack.I don't know what to think anymore, really. And with Sangwon being the KP again, yes Keny, again, as a judge said, Sangwon was born for the KP HAHAHAHA. I also notice that Hao should have more confidence in himself to fight for the KP if he wants it and not let himself be guided by what others think, fight for it. I hope to see his growth in terms of personality. Sangwon deserves the number 1 position without a doubt, more than anyone else, I hope he stays number 1 until the end...Sorry for the long text, haha.I was so eager for you to see this episode.

I was so excited to see your reaction!! long comment incoming :D Chains is honestly the best song of this round and has the most appealing choreography, the first time I heard it I just knew the team performing it was going to win, it's hands down the most impactful song and stage out of all 4. Sangwon really carried of course, even though Jiahao is on another level dance-wise, but SW facial expressions were so on point… like one of the judges said, he really knows how to use his face. Leo's vocals ate!! Though I also had doubts about it being fully live, for Chains it really sounded way more polished than the other performances. Geonwoo&Leejeong - they were fine but didn't stand out to me much (maybe I was blinded but Sangwon and Jiahao lol), same with Anxin - definitely not rank 2 performance level, he was just ok. Also I cracked up when you said Anxin looked ANXious in practice, idk why that was so funny to me haha With the Sugar High team, half of the members I really care about, and the other half I honestly couldn't care less lol Musically it was fine, not great not terrible, I'm not the biggest fan of cute/aegyo concepts but I did like the vocal execution and overall stage. Sometimes it lacked energy, but since they're not the strongest dancing team, I don't mind cause I value vocals more anyway, dancing can always be improved. Haneum and Woojin carried vocally for sure, and I 100% agree with you about Yunseo - his tone is so good, and he's such an all-rounder! I know he's very young, but if he doesn't debut this time, I really hope someone picks him up in a couple of years, he's a gem Lucky Macho team was my second fav overall. Donggyu is such an ace! His friendship with Junmin is also really cute, Mnet gave them an unbelievable amount of screentime this episode lol but I'm not mad. If Donggyu survives the next elimination, he's gonna be my 1-pick. And after Lucky Macho I'm sold on Junmin too, he's charismatic and skilled, and if the group needs a rapper I'd much rather it be him and/or Xinlong than Sanghyeon for example Main Dish was the least exciting song for me, but the performance was still really good! the conflict during prep days was unfortunate and I felt bad for Heng Yu, these survival shows are so mentally and physically draining, a little support instead of just 'get yourself together' would've helped, but I'm glad they pulled through in the end. Kangmin was definitely the star, his rank is deserved, the others did well too! About Junseo- yeah it was me who said he gives off that slightly dated vibe, you worded it better, old-fashioned, he even pulled the same 2015-coded eyebrow raise he did in Bad lol. And I agree, he kinda radiates mean energy, not sure if that's just editing or not right now the ones I really want in the final group are Sangwon, Leo, Donggyu, Woojin, Haneum, Xinlong, Junmin and Kangmin. of course there are plenty of other trainees I wouldn't mind seeing debut, and a couple I'd be kinda annoyed with if they do lol but they're way too popular right now haha so I'm preparing to suck it up

My Chingyu 🥹 people not voting for him bc he’s a minor is so annoying. I get he doesn’t fit the “alpha” theme they are going for but I just need to debut somewhere asap. He’s just talented and ready for debut Im also intrigued on how this group will mesh bc a lot of them give me major solo vibes

I'm going to need these live audience to meet me outside, because in what universe did Leo score the lowest in his team?? He was literally 3rd best after Sangwon and Jiahao. Also I have my suspicions because the "cute" team members always get such high scores when at least 3 of them are visibly lacking. It feels that mnet purposefully has majority of the audience as their fans who always give them higher scores to ensure their positions. Also **ALL** of the performances are heavily edited and auto-tuned that's why we don't hear the same mistakes we hear during the evaluations. The sound is heavily processed, in the Chains performance for example only Anxin and Leo sounded close to the original and I'm sure their voices were edited too to some extent. Korean singing shows were exposed for that a while ago when someone used their phone to film live during a competition and the singer sounded so out of pitch it was horrible, however, the posted version on their channel was pitch corrected and sounded nothing like the actual sound. A lot of new kpop fans have no clue about that and I hear them praise their faves "live" vocals when I could hear clear as daylight how heavily processed the sound is.

Bruh, the on site voters need to square up bc I don’t know what they’re on half the time😒 I love Yunseo, that’s my maknae🥹🥹 I don’t understand why the live audience doesn’t like him bc they usually love young and cute? It’s like the fact that he’s also talented turns them off lol. For Jia Hao I can’t tell if he doesn’t have much personality or if they just haven’t shown any of it? This is his first real storyline since him and An Xin’s original audition so I could imagine him having more going on that we just haven’t seen. Likewise with Sangwon, I do think he’s more on the introverted side compared to a lot of the other trainees but I also think he’s lowkey a little weirdo (in a good way) so I’m excited to see more of his personality come out once they debut. The trainees I NEED to debut as of now are Sangwon, Leo, Xin Long, Jia Hao and Junmin. I really like Donggyu too I just haven’t gotten quite as attached to him. I also like An Xin but just feel like he doesn’t pop on stage like I want him to. I love Zi Hao and Yunseo a lot but not getting my hopes up cause it isn’t looking good for them😞 I still really don’t see it for Geonwoo but they’re determined to make him happen so I guess I gotta get used to it lol. I also kinda want Woojin or Haneum to make it cause their vocals are just too good to waste. It’s funny bc for the majority of this season I haven’t cared about more than 2 or 3 trainees so I haven’t been stressed, but now that we’re getting to the end I have a bunch that I’m invested in and I’m nervous as hell for the next elimination/final line up😩

i dont have much to say but i am so happy you enjoyed jia hao this episode !! i have been rooting for him so much and i felt like mnet didnt want to showcase him much, but im glad he got a little storyline here at least. as for the personality, i cant really say much but i DID watch makemate1 (another survival show that both anxin and jia hao were in) and his personality definitely was there! i am pretty sure it just MNET's editing and they just cut out parts

1the9 reference kills me bc I actually watched Under 19 but Junseo I don't really remember. The p01 Doyum and p02 Jinsung were the only ones to stand out to me in that survival show.
