I LIKE to do my research and I'm glad I did.

It's great seeing their commitment to making music and how creative they are. I felt more inspired to say things which is a testament to how interesting their musical approach is. . It really comes very naturally to them which is beautiful to see because they're certainly very talented.

I can't say I left with anything that shocked or moved me, they more met my expectations and added some nice context to who they are and how they got to where they are but I didn't get the moment of attachment I was hoping to find even though I was still entertained.

I'll definitely stay tuned to them esp if they lean more into the what you want sound!

Enjoy!

oh wow. i was NOT expecting this but i'm going to eat it up anyway. doing charity for us cortisols rn!!! i think this documentary was super well made and made me like them in the first place. i was a little iffy on their music at first but i do really enjoy them now and i love what they bring to the table.

I have a weird in-between sentiment. You can feel that gen z / alpha music influence and they are still a little pretentious about their music taste if that makes sense because they are young. And it is refreshing to see them try and maybe fail to incorporate that into their own style in the future, but it feels authentic to them and for kpop it is fairly new and it is refreshing (I know someone somewhere did sth similar already, no one attack me).. Tbvh though this doc was a bit dragginggg for me and I'm so surprised you didn't skip once?? And then I realized, I am uneducated hahahaha because I know nothing abt producing and you can appreciate the art and effort more than me I'm intrigued by them on good days but I just know on bad days I will be sick of the carti sound if it keeps on for tooo long. I'll give them a few years to cook though

Haha everything you said is so spot on. In a way they remind me of Boynextdoor but the difference is they are very solid singers so i had more to connect with where Cortis definitely do feel more self assured in a way that CAN come off pretentious but like you said, it's youth!

also i understand your previous view of james because he is very goofy and unserious, but he is also very focused and serious when it comes to working. he is always trying to serve face in pictures too like he has a serious case of rbf lol.

Yess thank u so much for that, if I see Cortis I click it, and also I love to see what are ur thoughts about new artists. Even though u r not very into their sound rn I would recommend u to watch their vlogs and bts if u want bcs it shows more their personalities and goofy side which was not portrayed in the documentary 🫶🏻🫰🏻💕Much love

i’m so glad you reacted to this! i commented a few days ago on your podcast episode about them hoping you’d watch it, but i didn’t expect to actually get a reaction out of it. i have a lot of thoughts so bear with me lol first: what you said about seonghyeon seeming more mature is crazy accurate and i can’t believe you caught that that early on. as someone who’s been following them since debut and has seen every piece of content and vlog they’ve posted, i can tell you he definitely is one of the more mature members. he’s also an older brother, so it makes sense that he acts that way. however, i feel like keonho is the opposite lol. even though they’re the same age and people call them “twins” because of how similar they look, they’re completely different. also i got goosebumps too when they were creating GO. i’m so glad they caught that process on camera and the way they were mumbling over the melody as they came up with it was insane!! i know this is usually how songs are made, but it was my first time seeing it happen in real time and it was so fascinating, especially knowing how big the song ended up getting. also most of the songs you heard there are unreleased. they made about 300 songs during their time at music camp and only released five on the debut album. i think cortis’ essence as a group really draws you in. the music they’re releasing now while not everyone’s cup of tea was the best decision they could’ve made because it grabs people’s attention and makes you want to check out more from them. that’s exactly how they got me. i listened to GO and didn’t feel much at first but then i saw the live stage and was blown away first by the fact that they were singing live (which i’ve personally never seen on shows like inkigayo, mcountdown, etc.). then they did their showcase and i was genuinely blown away by their stage presence. you’d think they had several years of experience when you see them perform. i also really like all their vocal tones even if they haven’t shown them off much in their current songs. it really comes across during live performances especially what you want. i think it was at soundbomb 360 or something like that where they performed the song with only vocals and no choreo and it was amazing. since it was 360 audio you could hear all the adlibs and details even better and this was literally DAYS after their official debut. i think they’ll definitely do more music like what you want in the future. just from seeing the kind of music they listen to during their livestreams you can tell they’re heavily influenced by soft rock, punk, and brit rock. martin even said he wants to make music like that but “doesn’t have the abilities yet” 😭 but i’m sure they’re gonna get sooo much better at creating and producing as they grow and make more music together!

Koko3op

Interesting! Yeahh it must have to do with evolution for sure.

Koko3op

Ha I'm quite perceptive if i do say so myself! Yeah watching them create GO! Was quite an amazing experience for sure
