It was going so well with the first two singles.

I can't find the words to describe my frustrations with their A&R. I feel like they're really going for a niche quirky rock vibe but when it's like 4 songs that could be interachangeable, what are we REALLY DOING?!?!

And maybe because i particularly DESPISE overly busy songs with a lot of treble and static, it just grates even further.

Especially considering how many songs were wasted on the previous album and how annoying those were. At least with See you on tomorrow, the vocals and harmonies were sooo strong and CLEAN.

Anyway Band-aid, I love you!

It really sucks that this is the type of music they’re being given, especially after such a great debut album. I was just as bored as you were listening to the b-sides—they go nowhere and fall completely flat. Their voices deserve better songs. I really like them and their personalities, as you know from Discord, and it would be nice to love the music just as much. Honestly, even though Band-Aid isn’t my genre, I’d be fine with them going in that direction because it was vocally strong and actually interesting. And not just for them, but in general… I NEED chanting to be banned from boy group songs. Enough already.

I was pleasantly surprised to see you react to kickflip again! Though this album still didn't do it for me either overall Band-Aid is sssooooo good! I thought you would like it! Those vocals are amazing and the live performances as well! Hope their next album will have something more for us to enjoy like their first album.

I agree with everything you said! I love the boys, their personalities, I've watched a ton of their content and they're hilarious, and the chemistry between them is insane (Kyehoon is my bias, I love how he's such a playful leader and he reminds me of Jungwon). But when it comes to their music, I really think JYP is dropping the ball. Not because the boys lack skill or talent—they have more than enough, they sing live, they even have dance practices with live mics!—I just feel like they have so much potential and so much to offer, but JYP is holding them back with their song choices. This album was already a relief compared to the last one. I really hope they put them on a good path like they finally did with NMIXX.

Yeah, their first mini is the one I like the best, but this one is better than the second mini, which I hated. I really wanted to love them as I do with NEXZ, especially because I like Amaru and Keiju. I also like Minje, who sometimes looks out of place because of his height (Game Caterers). I guess they also have to make sure they don't clash with NEXZ, and they have the "good boy" image while NEXZ has the "bad boy/rebellious" image. It's a way to do it, Hybe did it, so it's possible. I guess they made them look too "goody two-shoes" for my liking, especially after Umm Great and Mama Said. Kickflip's average age is older than NEXZ, but NEXZ seems older sometimes, if that makes sense.

They’ve participated in tracks but mostly lyrics wise not sound wise. I know Amaru had a track on the second album he composed, arranged, and did lyrics for. And Donghyeon participated in the lyrics and composition for My First Love Song. But overall i wouldn’t say they are “making” their own music they are just involved in the creative process. In the future i’m sure they will get to the point of making their own music tho especially Amaru since that is something this love doing and have lots of songs in the vault.

my brain likes busy songs so i was obsessed with this album and it got me into kickflip...but then again i much prefer the live stages of their songs. Secret Nightmare and Bandaid were in my top 5 most replayed songs of the year

Haha loved this reaction because its exactly what I expected (but also what I felt too!) honestly felt quite uninspiring (except bandaid of course) - also was the song you mentioned at 21:43 exo's electric kiss? went crazy for a sec to remember the song from your melody ahaha I'm yet to listen to their comeback (gonna get to it soon lol) will you be tuning in?
