I must admit, this album besides one song isn't for me but i love how it works within their discography!

They're paving a lane of their own and of course there could be some iVE overlap but it's the same company, it's bound to happen.

They really do excite me cos they're soo unpredictable!

Enjoy!

After releases like Dancing Alone (even though I like it quite a bit) and To Me From Me I was kind of dreading they were gonna start chasing I Do Me's success and abandon the quirkier side of what they're doing, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that at the very least this EP lands somewhere pretty successfully in the middle. Overall it's probably my favorite GG EP since IVE Switch or their own debut EP, though I wish they'd left TMFM off since it had already been released anyway and it just kind of ends on a down note. I think their more off the beaten path stuff is a lot more interesting and that Starship should leave more of the overtly straight-forward stuff to their big sisters over in IVE, but I still think they pull it off more often than not so far, too, so I can't complain too much.

Will you consider reacting to XG's album as well? I'm so interested to hear your honest feedback. Thank you!

I really think they remind people of new jeans in a positive way really comes down to their creative team. They bring a fresh and unfamiliar vibe with their concepts and sound to kpop the same way people felt new jeans did when they were first coming out. I see such a good future for kiikii if the team behind them keeps it up. Them, h2h and dodree, the new duo from jyp that mixes kpop and traditional Korean music, feel like they fill a spot that isn’t already acquired by another existing gg and that sets them apart from a lot of the other 5th gen debuts.

I’m actually really curious on how you’d feel about dodree because they have probably the strongest vocals from this generation and they feel different with their addition of pansori music to their sound. I’d understand if it’s not sonically your style but I’m interested in your vocal analysis on them since they sing in a different technique than idols usually do.

Mungnyang is def my favorite from the album and the chorus to me has such a strong indian influence which i never thought i would here in k-pop like how would anyone think to make a chorus with such unique sounds. Also kinda random but the whistley sound in the background of the chorus was giving nct sticker opening. Loved the reaction, thank you!

Koko3op

Yesss i'm glad they didnt try and chase i do me also!

Koko3op

omgg yess Indian influence makes sense!

Koko3op

I've seen 404 everywhere so I felt compelled to check this album out. Honestly really enjoyed it as well as your reaction. Idk what it is about Mungnyang but that chorus is just so satisfying to listen to. I don't usually check out newer groups because I feel like there's a chance to be randomly blindsided with bullshit drama or a member leaving and I don't wanna get too invested then have that happen💀. Still though, Im interested enough to hesitantly follow from a distance.

Koko3op

Haha im glad you gave a new group a chance!!
