Will I rush to relisten to this album? No!

Did I find it impressive irregardless of that? Absolutely.

It's great to hear them singing again and their voices letting loose and also having bsides that maintain that quality throughout!

LET THIS ALBUM BE THE LAST OF NO R&B THOUGH PLEASE. aespa STAHP!!!!

Enjoy!

Camouflage reminds me of one of Yeji’s solo songs from AIR

not sure how lemonade is being received but wda>>>>Lemonade. Definitely one of my least favorite title tracks. While I think Aespa have some great discography overall and have some good singers in the group, I still am missing that typical SM powerhouse main vocalist a la luna, taeyeon, wendy etc that is keeping me from being completely in love with the group.

i have such mixed feelings on this album - on one hand i am SO glad they’re singing again and i definitely enjoyed some songs (unlike rich man where the whole thing was a skip for me) but also - a) where did the dark sound we were hoping for from those ‘creature’ promo shots go? was it really only kind of for WDA??? devastating b) this album sonically doesn’t feel as cohesive in the way other albums have to me c) how do you give WDA absolute BANGING choreo and then give rich man 2.0 for your TT? we know these girls can dance!! i do feel like they’re making their way back from the detour rich man took them on and this is more in line with drama-armageddon-whiplash but idk it didn’t hit as hard for me (which could very well be because it didn’t have that same momentum of hit after hit album?? idk)

Yeahhh things have really changed in terms of powerhouse vocalists. And Lemonade broke the spotify record for streams and is shooting up the charts but yeah i agree

Koko3op

Oooo great point!! Those photos were iNSAAANEE. Just for them to be for WDA ... Lemonade should've been darker. Good point! And yess agree with the rest although I do feel the album is more cohesive than Arma tho!

They really do need so r&b or a different vibe. Flowers from the whiplash ep was kind of going that direction but it was like a tease and not fully there, but it would be cool if they could explore that more.

honestly i probably have to relisten to arma since as i’m sitting here i’m remembering “oh yeah they usually have 1 red velvet-esque and 1 alt-rock/pop-punk-ish song on each of their more recent albums” so i may in fact be thinking of early aespa lol i just miss the consistent industrial sound that carried through their discography

the guitar bit at the start of can’t help myself really reminds of kick it by nct 127 i love it. Also i love shakin but i wish the first two choruses were just a little bit more because for me they were way too underwhelming compared to the third. Also one thing ive noticed aespa idk if other groups do this but they love to have the second verse be much shorter for time for like a long bridge/outro ig which idm if it’s a good bridge but it feels a little lackluster sometimes. Also what would your ratings be for every song.

Koko3op

Ermmm I’d say most of them are around 7/8 tbh besides roll which is a 2.

Kpop need to leave these nursery rhyme songs in the bins honestly idk why they keep doing them but yh i mostly agree with those rankings they are solid but they don’t come close to bsides such as mine.

21:34 for my sanity, i cope by saying they're not allowed to do it because it will rupture the sound barrier in the studio. no but deadass the one gripe i do have is the same as you. i just need a vocal song but they took off bc of how cunt they were so good for them and bad for us lol. overall pretty good album despite that one thing and fuckass roll (i will forever beef with knetz cause i know damn well they love the aegyo bs songs). with armageddon as a body of work, it didn't feel like an album, more-so a criteria of we have to check every box of genre for any new listener to have at least one song they enjoy, whereas lemonade is so much more cohesive. i hope they at least put recording behind vids for some of the bsides like they did for their most recent solos and other bsides from armageddon cause theres so many interesting vocal moments i'd love to hear raw

this album honestly made me start to like aespa again bc 2025 was interesting.. 😭 if only we got cant help myself instead of rich man, we would have been saved! they were sitting in concepts that felt right, but the production was never a full send in the genre they were going for like it is with lemonade and whiplash. i also feel like this album felt very giselle and a lot of the songs felt influenced by her artistry, specifically camouflage being reminiscent of her most recent solo

Koko3op

Yesss i'd love more recording behinds!! Esp for can't help myself. Yeah fr, they'll never give us that rnb song

Koko3op

OMG CHM would've been such a good title track!!

out of the entire album about 5 songs will probably get added by me which is pretty good i think. more than i was expecting! would love to hear them sing DOWN on an r&b track. Also we need to stop adding these damn nursery rhymes to songs 💀💀 what a joke. i can never take it seriously. Enjoyed seeing the anderson paak and nmixx collab at the end!! completely agree that its a great song but wish it had both of their signatures in it rather it being a dem jointz song.
