In today's episode, I dive into the growing online debate around the "HYBEMAs", as fans accuse HYBE of having an overwhelming presence at this year's AMAs. Is the criticism fair, or is it simply a reflection of the company's current dominance in the industry?

I also share my thoughts on ALD1's recent music, why I'm struggling to connect with the group's direction, and whether their current sound is doing enough to separate them from the increasingly crowded boy group landscape.

Alongside that, I react to several recent comebacks, including MEOVV's latest release, and discuss my first impressions of where the group might be heading musically.

Plus, I accidentally stumbled across an incredible SHINee B-side and now have questions about why nobody told me about it sooner. Sometimes the best discoveries aren't title tracks at all.

Thanks for another great podcast! I always enjoy listening to these as I drive to work. Some thoughts that I have: - I would love to hear some more British history! As a good ole American there is a lot I don’t know and it would be fun to learn more. I heard Bank holidays mentioned once before but I thought it was just 2 or 3 days a year. I didn’t know it happened more often than that. - Honestly, over the years I’ve stopped watching music award shows. Like you pointed out a lot of the wins don’t even feel deserved. And some of these awards sound like they were created just to have more awards handed out. In regard to BTS, personally I feel like Arirang was their weakest album. I wasn’t surprised to hear they won some awards since you can basically buy awards nowadays but it was a little disappointing to see. I’m hoping whatever they put out next is much better. I also wasn’t too surprised to find out that BTS has that much input on the album because a few people had guessed that. Someone actually mentioned that all the members having solo careers with distinctive, different sounds and preferences is why they think the album fell flat. Too many chefs in the kitchen. - As for ALD1, I’m not the biggest fan of all their releases but I feel OMG was better than what was put out before. Since that was technically a pre-release and not the comeback I’m curious to see what sound they’ll present in August. Honestly this seems to be a common problem with Wakeone groups. Kep1er and Zerobaseone went through the same exact thing. ZB1 only recently started developing a solid sound but before it was also hit or miss. Kep1er started putting better songs later in their discography also but sadly I think it was too late since most of the hype had died down by then. - I feel so bad for Meovv and Izna. The black label needs to do better with the music they are producing because this isn’t it. That Meovv comeback was so disappointing and the Izna highlight medley didn’t sound appealing. They have these 2 talented girl groups and they give them songs like these 🙄 If you read all of that, you are a angel 💕 Hope you’re having a good day!

I sure did!! I love comments with paragraphs!! Yess if i think of more british history I'll definitely add it haha and yeah I'm hoping BTS do better in the future but i'm not holding my breath. And true Wakeone groups can be like that but it feels like with ZB1 we had strong vocals at least and yeah ALD1 may be weaker vocally but there's still something to work with :( Idk i hope things pick up cos i was soooooo excited for them. Have a great day also!
