Wonbin is the reason why i live.

My God.

He centers and visuals like Taeyong, sings like Chen and dances like Taemin. This is SM's super weapon and a fucking talent.

The vocals on this album are SENSATIONAL, to the point where I end up enjoying songs i didn't really like at once.

A lot of the production choices could've been simpler tbh, i'd say a couple of these songs are over produced too. Adrian and Kenzie need to CALM DOWN LOL.

The title trak is definitely their worst yet. Confusing and overly repetitive for what exactly?? It may even be worse than Bore 119.

Honestly, I still wonder why they chose "Do Your Dance" as the title track.😔 The instrumental just didn't work for me, and the chorus felt a bit too repetitive. As for the other tracks, I agree with you, the production feels a little overdone, and the instrumentals are too busy. If I had to pick the best song on the album, I'd say "SOAR." That doesn't mean I really like it, though. It's not really my style, and it has that motivational movie soundtrack vibe. I just hope SM gives them songs that show off their strengths better, because I genuinely think they have the potential to deliver something amazing. For now, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes next. 🤞

honestly him starting of dyd with that tone got me but the song wasn't really allat also, he really went offff in overdrive u gottaaaa give it another listen, the only issue I had with that song is that the chorus sounded a bit empty.

WONBIN WONBIN WONBIN - his recent covers are proving that he's gaining confidence and I hope we get to see that on stage more. Do Your Dance had me at the start and that BUILD UP made me believe it could go somewhere amazing but then it didn't. The repetitiveness just makes me think they wanted something that was easy to remember. But its just very TikTok gen. Its fun as a performance song but I feel like a title song can showcase their strengths so much better and this wasn't it. D-D-Done would have been a favorite but it did feel over produced. There were things happening that didn't need to happen. Like if you peeled back what was happening on the surface , the base music was enough to carry the song with their vocals. Overdrive def sounded like an EXO song and I appreciated the harmonies. Maybe a live performance will warm me up to it. Like A Bomb sounded like they slipped into NCT then In A Loop was boring to me. The vocals and harmonies are always there. They're powerhouse performers but SM keeps picking weird songs to throw at them. Let's leave the weird to Aespa. I sound like a broken record but if they just let RIIZE settle into some 90s boyband / r&b / (sprinkle some house because Impossible is one of my faves) I feel like they'd sound more cohesive. It's SM though and minis aren't usually their better releases. I do love what they did with Odyssey and they're still growing. The next album I hope SM really showcases what they can do.

agreed or if instead of repeating the chorus it had a vocally driven 2nd half and a bridge instead of the dance break. although i think the more i see them perform it ill probably like it more i think it will eat at waterbomb too lwk hoping its gonna give camp club music

lol I'm sorry but I laughed so hard when you said "I blame Cortis.. Somehow" after reacting to Do your dance. It really is repetitive. Wonbin though.. just WOW. He's amazing.

I said this on Spotify already, but SOAR is so HSMTMTS. Wonbin didn't come to playyyyyyy. We better get a behind recording for that.

do your dance just seems like it was engineered to be a vehicle for performance and virality, instead of an actual song that can stand on its own. i’m a huge fan of experimental “noisy” stuff but this was dreadful. anyways, we need a wonbin solo ASAP

Part Two: I've comeback now that I've seen the dance practice ,the live performances , and listened a few times. Maybe I've warmed up to Do Your Dance ( have you warmed up to it yet or is it still the worst?) I also must say, D-D-Done (esp after seeing the live performances) and Like A Bomb are my faves off this mini. The chorus of each song just really brings it together for me and this is the most SM music out of them. SM should let them settle into this because they are good at it and have the vocals and stage presence to just be a great SM group that becomes classic and timeless. A good, pop & r&b group without the bells and whistles and trying to adopt genres that aren't suited to them just to ride what's popular.

i know i'm a bit late but i wanted to say the one singing at 17:28 WAS wonbin! he said he had a lot more high notes this mini and was really anxious bc of it, but i'm so proud of him and how hard he clearly works. i think we're used to assuming almost every high note is sohee, so it makes me happy that they're trying to change it up and give wonbin more opportunities this album too.
