Well, it was something!

The positives are definitely the styling and staging, they made the whole thing easy and stimulating to watch. As for the boys, Riku is truly a blessing for the line up. He embodies the concept so well but still adds his own sauce and personality and seems to TRULY engage with the songs at all times and changes his performance accordingly.

Sion is fantastic but seems stuck in a seductive persona which at times feels out of place. Ryo has potential but is a little on the reserved side. Sakuya has moments where his expressions SHINE then he disappears lol.

The other two are my main gripe. Jaehee MUST've been sick because he did not seem into it at all and it was killing my buzz, especially considering how upbeat their music is. It just wasn't what I was expecting. With Yushi, I already know he doesn't express much, but I thought he'd surprise me for a CONCERT at least. Nope and it's a shame because he's in the center so often.

I had to go back and watch some TWS clips afterwards because they're actually VERY similar groups and almost feel like brother groups. I still can't fully explain why one clicks for me and the other doesn't, but I think NCT Wish's choreo might just be a little too rigid to allow much joy and groove. TWS have mastered that balance, and I think that's what makes their performances feel more engaging and full of life.

I also think the songs have clearly always been too busy for me lool they just don't breathe unless they're mega slow and I guess that is their niche, it just isn't for me and I'm ok with that!

i am nct wish's biggest fan like seriously there is no one bigger than me 😭 that being said, my biggest gripe with yushi is that his face is often kind of frozen on stage. it's a little surprising because he's actually really expressive in content, behind-the-scenes clips, and dance practices. i'm not sure if he's just nervous or super focused on not making mistakes, but i feel like if he brought that same expressiveness to his performances, on top of his amazing vocals and dance skills, he would level up so much. as for the rest they are usually quite expressive so im not sure what happened here lol. and YES riku and sion my favs to watch on stage bc they are always IN it, like locked in. everytime i watch a performance im like why is riku the only one serving CUNT like? i also agree sion should try other things besides just the seductive look. thanks so much for this reaction, so fun !! <3

yeah i seldom have gripes with SM but one of my biggest is there obsession with making their idols lip sync!! like not everything has to be perfect esp at a concert bc if ur just gonna lip sync then i may asw just watch inkigayo like?!???! also they need to kill whoever filmed this bc not a single wide shot is crazy

Is this the concert from around the award show season ?? Maybe that’s why they all look a bit tired,cuz I know around then SM was over working them frr. They also look a bit nervous here lol I never noticed 😭

I think NCT wish is not relaxed which contributes to the lack of performing and not being able to enjoy themselves, which kinda makes me think they aren't prepared enough. But with TWS they feel like they're prepared and they are enjoying what they're doing and their joy is so contagious that you even enjoy a song that you dont like lol

Valid points all around! Sion is my favorite so far, love his tone and stage presence,but I totally get what you mean about the seductiveness,he could definitely tone it down at times. to be fair he might just be carrying that weight because the others are younger or still finding their confidence, and i feel like every group has different flavors to pull in fans, and companies think at least someone needs to be a ‘sexy’ one. Riku is an absolute star in the making, SM completely hit the jackpot with him! As for the rest, i also agree. they just need more time and stage experience to fully evolve as performers and switch up their mindset, kind of like what you mentioned in the other comments. i have huge expectations for Sakuya,his presence fluctuates but the charisma is there and he’s 100% going to surprise us once he gets more experience, i feel like. musically, i’m actually a big fan of their title tracks. also I'm completely obsessed with Sticky the most, I don’t know why it worked so well for me. Though their B-sides can be a hit or miss. They definitely need to evolve their sound eventually while keeping that neo vibe, but for now they own this specific niche, and honestly they bring really fresh energy to the current kpop landscape. again this was such a solid breakdown, appreciate you sharing your reaction and thoughts!

hii, i think you’re right about most of the things, and i think their facial expressions will get better as time passes so yeah maybe in few years they will get better.

They have just been over working them to the bone it’s like their 3rd tour in between the back to back comebacks. Please if you have time react to their fanmeeting concert that was soo much more enjoyable with fun covers!

I agree with you so much about Ryo!I He has so much potential, and his growth has been crazy phenomenal - like Ten's level of phenomenal. No prior dance or vocal training, to now THIS with just 1 year of proper training under his belt. He has so much potential, and when he lets loose, like in dance practices, you see the crazy shit he's capable of pulling off. He's been going head-to-head with Wish's seasoned and experienced dancers like Sion Yushi and Riku, and imo he outclasses them a bunch of times too. I think his reserved shyness is a combination of a bunch of things: inexperience compared to the older members, personality being VERY reserved, and he's just very underconfident. The only guy in wish who never even promotes his own solo appearances or even admits he's done something well is Ryo, but he makes it a point to hype up everyone else. My hope is that with this incredible work ethic, natural talent, and a great bunch of members that he has (and I'm convinced it's why everyone, especially Riku and Sion, go out of their way to praise Ryo and hype him up), he'll slowly and surely come out of his shell and let loose on stages a lot more!
