I don't know if you have a Buffyverse comics reading order list or not, but I hope someone let you know to read the Fray miniseries comics first. It's about a new Slayer set in the future and it's only 8 issues, but it's kinda, sorta significant. Also, it's personally one of my favorite Buffyverse comics lol (still hoping for a TV series for it one day 🤞🏾)... I can't wait to go through with you because it's been a while since I've dove into comics, which I remember enjoying. Some of my favorite dynamics came from the comics 😁... Also, I didn't comment on the last behind the scenes vid, but I'm glad you enjoyed the Buffy trailers and I'll send you those Angel trailers when you wrap that series up 🙂.

This is really interesting. I own all the original comics in actual book form, but I've never seen these motion comics. This should be fun! EDIT: halfway through, and I'm also struggling with the voices. As you say, it's not just the tone, but also the cadence of speech that's off. At least when reading these, I could match the voices to the ones in my head from the show. The animation is pretty cool though - it's well done.

I've got to say I prefer the physical copy of the comic (maybe I'm just not used to it). It's a lot easier to tell who's talking for one thing. Plus, some lines that setup future issues have been removed (it appears that some lines have been added as well). I do like how it was animated though. You might be wondering how The First could have taken the guise of Warren if Amy saved him with magic. Well, Joss admitted that it was a mistake. This is a quote credited to Joss that I found on Reddit: "He was legally dead for like a second. Amy didn't tell him 'cause she didn't want to upset him. I forgot, okay?!"

I actively avoided these when I heard about them because some things just felt so outlandish imo but I was happy to know she was still kicking ass and taking names. To me, buffy ends in the finale on TV and she is just off eating in every country imaginable with good food. So I'll take this as an alternate universe kinda haha. 🖤

It’s been a very long time since I’ve revisited season 8. I remember being very disconcerted reading it for the first time - it has some quite outlandish scenarios. I still don’t know quite what to think about it. I will say that the comics do become a bit more … I don’t know the right word … normal? Reasonable? Or maybe I just got used to it and started liking it for what it is. If I remember correctly, I really liked the next arc in this season. And I thoroughly enjoyed the companion series as well (I won’t name it in case of spoilers). I agree that the actors are somewhat hard to differentiate in the motion comic sometimes. I very much respect how they brought the comics to life visually.

Yes! During season 6 I wanted so badly to mention Warren! I would tell you through the screen. I do that a lot. LOL. I live a full and exciting life(!) I kind of hold the comics as not cannon, even though they were created by the same jack ass. But it's like 99% of it falls out of my head as soon as I finish reading them. It's kind of hilarious, because I hold 'Go Ask Malice' as cannon even though it's basically fanfic. I even remember Fray, but not season 8. At least not in terms of plot... Giant Dawn, Warren being alive, I remember, but nothing of substance. I've never made it through all the comics though. I had access to all of them online, but I just couldn't get through them, I guess I need physical copies. I have the 1st omnibus, because I found it wicked cheap, but I can't afford more. NGL, not loving the motion comics, but I'm going to keep watching. Maybe I just don't care for season 8? I'll continue evaluating. I'm supposed to love all things Buff, especially if they come from the original team, but maybe I just don't. Okay, I'll take my existential crisis elsewhere now. lol. I still love the reactions. :D
