This version of Connor is so great. having “cool Connor” and Illyria as opposed to grumpy Connor and Fred is a major upgrade right now. I love that basically everything that happens in season 3 and 4 of Angel happens because of the prophecy that Connor would kill Sajahn. Because of that prophecy Sajahn was the one that brought Holtz back to this time and Sajahn rewrote the prophecy to say that Angel would kill Connor and made it so that Wesley would read the false prophecy about Angel killing Connor and that lead to Wes kidnapping the baby, getting his throat slit and his rift with the gang, and also the reason Connor ended up in Quor Toth with Holtz. That prophecy where Connor kills Sajahn lead to almost everything that happens. It’s so great that the show came back around on it and gave us a satisfying conclusion to Sajahn’s storyline and the prophecy.

So Cyrus Vale (old wizard guy) said that if the box breaks in the vicinity of someone who's memories had been changed, they would get their real memories back. So it can be assumed that while Wes, Illyria, and possibly Connor got their memories back, Lorne, Gunn, and Connor's "parents" would probably still have their fake memories and not the real ones.

For any horror fans, Cyvus Vail is played by the same actor (Dennis Christopher) who played Eddie Kaspbrack in the original 90s adaptation of Stephen King's 'IT', and also the lead role of Eric Binford in the criminally underrated 1980 Horror film 'Fade to Black'.

So, small thing, but the exchange Angel: How did they find us? Wesley: Police officer mentioned our name always reminds me how early Kate disappeared. Long story short: she was meant to have a continuing role on the show, but she got cast in Law & Order and sadly that was the end of the character.

I've been waiting since episode 1 of season 5 for you to get to this episode!! I really enjoy how humorous it is for a rather dark episode. The tear down Connor's cheek after his memories are returned is brutal. I do find it amusing how Sajahn sent him to Quor Toth thinking that was the end of it, when in reality it's likely having been raised there that made him fully capable of killing Sajahn, and quite quickly at that. I feel so badly for Wesley. He really thought it was about Fred. When he told Illyria to focus on the newer memories my heart broke for him a bit more. The guy has had it rough lately. I think I might cry when this rewatch is over, I love Buffy and Angel so much. So close to the end now.

I love watching new memories Conner stoked to have super powers and be a fighter. But after those memories came back, the trauma was not a place he wanted to return to. Play dumb and focus on the fabricated memories, to endure the truth (like Wes says).
