This is SUCH a fun movie! The comedy is probably some the best it's ever been, everybody hitting those comedic beats perfectly. The directing, the intriguing mystery, the acting. The cameos!! It's beyond amazing that this was ENTIRELY crowdfunded through Kickstarter ($5.7 million USD back in 2012, $7.8 million in today's current dollar amount). It's breathtaking the love this show has on its fans This movie is genuinely the definition of a passion project and I think it shows the whole way through

I just got up from the table during family Thanksgiving and went into a quiet and dark room to watch this immediately. ✌️

For this VM fan, the movie was perfection. And you did it justice.

This was such a perfect ending to the series. I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign to get it made and it was such a great, communal experience of all VM fans coming together and getting to see the cast again.

Rob Thomas said that he wrote this movie to have a lot of fan service because it was the fans who paid for it through the Kickstarter. The mystery isn’t the greatest but it’s good enough and all the character stuff and nostalgia is really great. I saw it on opening night and the theater was pretty full of people that were clearly fans and everyone clapped at the end. Some things, Carrie Bishop/Bonnie Deville, the person murdered was played by Leighton Meester in the show in season 1. She was the one that accused the teacher of having an affair with her and paying for her abortion. In the end of the episode it turned out that it was Susan knight (the one who drowned in this movie) that had the affair with the teacher. They tried to get Leighton back for the movie and she was trying to make it happen but in the end couldn’t so they recast her. Shawn, the guy was dating Kerri right at the end of her life that Logan threatens at the reunion was the guy from the Poker episode in season 1. He was the one that ended up stealing the money during the game because he claimed to be super rich but turned out his dad was just the butler. The guy that Gia was dating who’s dad is a senator, was in the season 1 episode where him Logan and Troy Vandergraff went to Mexico and he brought back the steroids in the piñata that ended up being stolen. And Veronica’s nemesis at the reunion was Madison Sinclair, the one who dated dick and hooked up with deputy Lamb. I like that the show brought back all of these season 1 characters for the continuity.

As far as I'm concerned. This is the end for me. I won't watch any further! BUT I will be at EVERY SINGLE Dr Who video and I'm excited for whatever you decide comes after VM!

I still have my t-shirt and signed movie poster from backing this movie on kickstarter :-)

This comment will be updated as I progress: At 32 mins currently; my thoughts. Logan looks UHMAZING. When I saw him in that uniform.....oh my goddess. When I saw him leaning against car as she walked out at 32 mins ... Hot damn. Also TMZ still comes on fox where I am. And Perez is a failed tiktoker now. Coming back at 47 mins. So I know Justin Long from Jeepers Creeprs and loved him since- what did you originally see of his that made you like him ??? The della Pugh/stalker girl I know her from now and then- she plays a young Rosie O'Donnell, the tomboy. Those eyebrows, I wouldn't Miss them anywhere, iconic. Ok final edit lol I wasn't one of the og watchers. I didn't watch until 2020 when stuck at home. So I got to enjoy binging all at once. I absolutely loved it when I first watched. 🖤 I loved the special cameos ALOT lol.

Keep in mind Season 4 takes place in another 5 yr jump ahead. & their are 2 books that take place between that time since your more interested in Weevil storyline you really should at least read the 2nd book cause that’s where you get that info the Season 4 only shows the aftermath of what happens in the book they don’t really give any flashbacks of anything so you will miss out on some integral info from the movie cliff hanger pertaining to weevil if you skip the books. Also the 1st book is narrated by KB so feels more like the original show unfortunately she didn’t do the 2nd book.

OMG DARCIE!!!! That was so fun for me to watch. Let me tell you the story of Veronica Mars as it aired, as a Canadian (Montrealer). If you wanted to watch Veronica Mars in Canada when it aired, you couldn't get it on regular cable because we didn't have UPN in Canada. CTV aired some episodes of season one the summer between season one and two (no idea why, maybe just buying random American shows to air? who knows) and I happen to catch them (summer of 2005). Obsessed immediately. The DVD box set released that summer and I remember going to HMV to buy it and I watched it all in one day. Then it's time to convince my dad that because I needed to be able to watch UPN we had to upgrade our cable package so we could get a PVR from videotron and pay extra for this one additional American channel I needed. And let me tell you my dad was not easily convinced. I finally get him to upgrade the cable and I watch religiously for the next two years. I meet my best friend because he’s the only person at school who also watches the show and he introduces me to Buffy (mother). I cry endlessly in 2007 when the show is canceled. Kristen becomes a huge star. But she never shies away from VM and the VM fans. Both Kristen and Rob continue to talk about wanting to continue the show in interviews. But I think fans had mostly given up. And then March 13, 2013 happens. At this point I'm living in London, ON in grad school. This kickstarter video drops and the VM fandom goes insane. I donated the minimum amount as a broke college student and waited diligently for updates. I still have all my kickstarter emails saved. Flash forward to March 11, 2014. Three days before the movie comes out. I'm living in Ottawa doing a co-op placement for my masters. I get a message from my cousin in LA that because of her work, she's going to a screening of the movie with a Q&A with the cast and going to the afterparty and if I can get my ass to LA by Sunday she'll take me as her date. Long story short I go to the event, I get to go to the afterparty where I meet Kristen, Jason, Enrico, Percy, Ryan, and Francis, as well as Rob Thomas and Marti Noxon (writer and producer of Buffy). Every single one of them was amazing and kind and gracious. One of the greatest days of my life, hands down. This show got me through some incredibly trying years of my life and being able to share those feelings with the people who made this show, a show that means so much to me, was incredible. As a kickstarter backer, you were given a link to watch the movie the second it hit 12am on March 14, 2014. I filmed my initial reaction post finishing the movie alone in my Ottawa apartment at 3am so I could send it to my best friend in Montreal. I had initially planned to go home to Montreal that weekend so I could see the movie with all of my VM loving friend group but LA changed those plans. I had to be up at 7am to make my flight for LA. Watching this tonight brought so many amazing memories rushing back for me. VM holds a special place in my heart (one of my family dogs is named Logan LOL). I’m sorry for this incredibly long story but watching the movie with you tonight has me seriously in my feels. What a show. And what a reaction video :)

I'm a little late to the party as I dragged my feet watching this. My Dad was a huge VM fan and I started watching it because of him. Sharing TV shows we loved with each other was something that bonded us and gave us an excuse to hang out. When the kickstarter happened we both were pretty excited. We went together on opening night and it was just a fun night hanging out with my Dad. It's a cherished memory of him. He passed away recently and I was worried seeing the movie again would be super emotional. It was, but it was also fun to see the movie again after so long. This and Serenity are two movies that shouldn't exist and yet they do because fans wanted it bad enough. Marshmallows are part of a rare set of fandoms that found a way to resurrect their beloved show and give it new life. This movie is an absolutely triumph.
