Forever disappointed that they didn't recreate this for the actual 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. Cowards.

I don’t care what anyone says I think this is a perfect sort of calm before the storm type episode. Plus Rose and the Doctor were just chemistry off the charts in this episode. I’m so excited for the final two episodes of series 2 though, I dunno if you could tell but the last two eps were super low budget because of the Satan pit two parter and the upcoming finale lol. That’s why there was a lot of explaining stuff this episode, literally didn’t have the budget to actually show it.

I think the original 50s series touched upon his fatherhood. I imagine the dad stuff was a callback to that.

Okay this episode I can defend 🙂‍↕️ Fear Her is a nice little bottle ep that tried to address some pretty heavy themes of loneliness/abuse, and I like how Rose is the one forced to solve the situation with Chloe without the Doctor, when she was the one being less empathetic to Chloe’s situation - compared to her encouraging Chloe at the end to overcome her fears 🥹 Plus the drawings used to freak me out as a kid 😭

The “I was a dad once” line was always SUCH a gag!! Doctor Who loves throwing out bits of the doctors past to trip you up, NuWho fans especially, 😭 classic who fans will know more about since the doctors first ever companion was his granddaughter, Susan! And ofc if you’re a Grandpa, logic dictates that you’re also a Pa 👀

For real though, Vancouver 2010 was the coolest experience. I was downtown Ottawa on my way home from school when the Canadian men’s team won gold in hockey and it was probably one of my favourite experiences. Just everybody basically cheering and dancing in the street, it was awesome.

Reaching this episode whilst the Winter Olympics are on is perfect timing haha. I still wish I'd gone to see some Olympic events in 2012, though my team's stadium is the one that was built for the Olympics!

Yeah… these two are my least favorite of all of nu who and that includes the Chibnall era. So that’s saying something. XD
