I love that this show has two main leads who stand up for themselves. I hate the shows where characters let themselves get bullied in this way, and I LOVE that Rory is just like “y’all are just weird”. Also Lorelai standing up to Emily? Queen shit. Wish I had that confrontational nature of the Gilmores lmao

this was actually a delight to watch bc I havent seen the show in a long time, so getting to watch it through your eyes is kind of gorgeous. plus I def have an opinion of who Rory should have ended up with but it's more of an outlier so it will be interesting to see in the long run if you end up having an opinion on that situation lol

Yeah, i understand the temptation to just take the handounds from grandma but speaking as someone who's mom is like that, it not handouts. It's avenues of control. The car the parking space and the internet aren't a one time expense, they all have payments that need to be made in order to keep them and missing those payments falls on mom not grandma, which means that if you don't listen to what grandma wants suddenly your getting sent to collections. It doesnt matter that you didn't want them, they're likely in your name and even if you keep the car out of your name you can't keep the insurance completely seperate. And all of this is ignoring the social and psychological pressure that grandma will use when she's spending, "all this money" on daughter whenever you have an argument.
