Rewatching this show makes me really appreciate how older shows did the 20 episode seasons. We get to take our time with these characters and feel close to them while they do normal stuff. While still developing them at the same time. The crashouts in this show are the best. Rory and Lorelai are basically doing what I wish I could do at work every day 😭😭

My dad was a boomer who drank iced coffee in the 80s, and back then baristas would get confused when you asked for it. I think if it could go back at least that long, there can be no sacrilege in choosing it.

Suki kept her back to the reviewer because restaurant reviewers are supposed to be unknown to restaurant staff/chefs so that they don't get preferential service or extra care with their meals better than any customer normally gets.

This is such a fun episode. Rory crashing out is both stressful yet entertaining. Love her getting the chance to go off on Paris and Tristan--like you said, very well-deserved lol

Darcie I'm glad you mentioned the movement. It's definitely very Sorkin-esque with the walking & talking. This show premiered shortly after The West Wing though so I'm not sure how much of an influence it was.. Really enjoyed Rory standing up for herself here. She's been at Chilton for awhile & has tried to assimilate. Everyone has their breaking point out and her getting up in Paris's grill was very satisfying. Lorelai standing up Rory was just as satisfying. Lorelai grew up in this world so she's not exactly an outsider. She bristles at it though & isn't willing to follow their artificial niceties. Glad Lane is back & we get another look at just how oppressive her environment is. Luke though is unfortunately even less of a factor here than last week.

My mom was indeed hit by a deer while driving one morning. It happens. lol. Such a weird thing to happen, but it does indeed happen IRL. Her deer was thankfully okay, she also got out to check on it. I watched Gilmore Girls once several years ago and it's so weird rewatching it now and seeing that story line after it just happened to my mom within the last year. Bizarre.
