This episode hurts haha. It reminds me so much of me and my own mom's relationship growing up. Luckily, our relationship got a hell of a lot better as we got older. Thankfully before she passed. But the struggle to both feel the need to push forward and to pull back simultaneously regarding how they interact together is very relatable to me. Neither of them really mean to cause harm but they don't realize the impact they have on each other. Both of them are convinced that neither of them care. And it might be because I'm the Lorelai in this situation but I can't exactly blame her for feeling that way considering years of feeling exactly that I really enjoy this episode since it paints such a focus on their dynamic, as harsh as it is. You can see both of them at the end really want things to be different. I just don't think they know how

Welcome back. I hope you're in a good place. Sometimes getting back into the rhythm of work can help.

I'm always stressed about Lane and her flight too lol. It's crazy to think that this was filmed pre-9/11 when TSA wasn't a thing. It aired in October 2001

I took a sip after that Lorelai and Emily argument as well! But I just love their complicated dynamic so much: I was extremely close to my grandmother (she was basically my mother and my best friend), so very different dynamic to Lorelai and Emily -- but even still, sometimes we had arguments that *so* remind me of situations in this show. The writing of all of the generations of Gilmore Girl struggles really do feel so real, even when they are not one-to-one comparisons -- and honestly is so unique to this show.

I did Habitat for Humanity. The contractors had to show us how to do everything, and even so, we still hung a cabinet upside down and had to get them to help us fix it. I am 100% sure that they would have gotten more done if we hadn't been there.

The fight this week wasn't as intense as the last one at Friday Night Dinner. Still pretty emotional & tense though. Lorelai stewing over it during her dinner with Max only to drive over there was wild. As was her stalking Emily through the foyer & getting in her face. Neither of them handed it the best. I'm inclined to give Lorelai more of the benefit of the doubt though as she's reluctant based on everything that's happened before. Nice to see Richard make amends in person to Rory. Shout out to Sookie. Such an amazing friend. Everyone would be lucky to have a friend like Sookie.

Oh, I'm the same, low light anytime! Cozy and dimmed :)

Thank you for mentioning the flight times! Yes this was filmed pre-9/11 but that doesn't mean you can show up 10 minutes before the flight, that was never a thing, especially for international flights with luggage lol :). So it is definitely a writing error....unless her plane takes off from her backyard.

I can't believe this is my one millionth rewatch and I just notice now that this is Tom first appearance!

Lol. The Toronto thing reminds me of when people not from the West of the US say "Or-eh-gone" and when I look at how it's spelled I get it, but, westerners say "org-en". I do mispronounce Toronto though!! 🫣😅 So thank you for the lesson!
