Good catch on the accent. Cole's actor was Australian. He was actually the son of a former Prime Minister. And as an Aussie, we do tend to just extend those Rs every time we do an American accent.

A lot of great things in this episode...Piper showing how powerful she can be when she's determined (bring out her inner mama bear), Paige writing her first Po3 spell (that whole sequence where they chant it, their intonation at the end like wtf was that, and response was all so hilarious), and I also thought Phoebe was really funny throughout.

It was a terrible movie And wait you've seen Passions?! 😂

Ray Wise (Ludlow) is actually known for his role in Twin Peaks. It's funny that you said he has a soap vibe cuz Twin peaks is kind of a soap but obviously so much more. He was cast in Dollhouse bc Joss Whedon is a big fan of Twin peaks - e.g. the episode Restless (TP influenced any show that came after it in any case, just like Buffy did with its successors).

I'm actually named after Samantha from Bewitched. I grew up watching it frequently. When I was in my late twenties I tried rewatching it, but I couldn't handle the parts Phoebe was talking about. I grew up entrenched in 90s feminism, so while progressive for it's time, I just can't overlook it the same way I could as a child. I do still love it though, it's complex. Lol. I also love Cole. His wanting Phoebe to be independent and do what she wants and not understanding why she likes bewitched when Darrin treated Samantha that way and everything, it just endears him more to me. Oh and just a comment on the "samanthr" of it all... While it's true he's not American, I grew up in a rural western area of the states with cowboys and such, and when people are real country they definitely say samanthr. So I never caught it that he was Australian for decades. He just went super country to my ear. 😅😅 I also enjoy the black and white glitch and the consistency of Phoebe and TV and film being important to her youth and how that comes alive in her life. I also really enjoyed all the Piper stuff. I'm so happy you're seeing and appreciating things that make Piper my favorite sister.
